Forgive me for the "late" posting, but i've just been catching up with some MM digest postings from a couple of weeks ago!! On the subject of female singers, my personal favourite seems to have gone unmentioned in all the various postings, so it's a belated mention here for Eleanor McEvoy. With six albums to her name, she also wrote the title track for Ireland's biggest selling album of all time "Only a womans heart". She's done the "Rock Chick" thing on the album "What's following me" but later offerings have been more laid back. Eleanor herself doesn't class her stuff as Folk, but prefers the "Rock" classification. would say she sits inbetween. Check her out at http://www.eleanormcevoy.net/ Some of my other likes which went unmentioned are Jonatha Brooke, Missy Higgins, and from many a moon ago Linda Ronstadt...... Yes, even her 1970's albums still sound great today. Cant wait for September 18th Shawn Colvin plays her first gig in the UK for well over 6 years AND shes comming back for more dates later in the year. Regards Tony. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Jul 2006 18:43:44 +0100 From: "Tony Mackness" Subject: MM: Re: mad-mission-digest V10 #76 Re: MM: RE: Serious female singers...
