I think she is a tremendous talent. Great songwriter with an outstanding voice. Sounds like she has been around for 20 years, but she is only 23 years old. Too many to mention. Sometimes they are harder to find since they are not on the charts..but they are there. I agree that Brandi Carlisle is really good- she's from Washington state- I saw her open for Shawn Colvin in Seattle. KT Tunstall who is British is amazing. She is less folky and more rock though. I love Garrison Starr's new album. Can't wait until the new Mindy Smith album comes out. Shawn Colvin's new album "These Four Walls" comes out in September. I have liked the few tracks I have heard. I love Lori McKenna too. I am always eager to hear Patti's new and old stuff. I love hearing her sing with Ellis Paul on his albums. I am grateful she chose to pursue singing and songwriting as a career. The first time I heard her open for Shawn Colvin in the late 90s at the Warfield in San Francisco I was in awe. She played songs off "Living with Ghosts"...one of my favorite albums. Thank you to Patti! Always listening, Alison ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V10 #73 *********************************
