Accompanied by guitarist and longtime musical collaborator, Doug Lancio, the "Million Tiny Targets Tour" will find Ms. Griffin showcasing new material in preparation for recording later this year. The twelve-city tour starting in Lexington, KY, will give fans the first opportunity to hear newly written songs but will also highlight several titles from Griffins previously recorded albums. Her most current recording, the 2004 ATO Records release, "Impossible Dream" garnered a Grammy nomination, as did the previous studio album, "1000 Kisses." Following her highly successful "Impossible Dream Tour", Ms. Griffin began writing new material for a studio album. Tentatively set for release in early 2007, Griffin will co-produce the new effort with producer/engineer, Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead). Ms. Griffin's original songs have been covered by a number of other artists in various musical genres and have been featured in films and on television. Most recently, Ms. Griffin's songs have been included on soundtracks for the Cameron Crowe film "Elizabethtown". Her version of the classic song "Moon River was an end credit theme in the movie and she made her acting debut with a cameo role in the film. We are thrilled to be able to see Patty again. I was afraid she was not going to come to the west this time around. http://www.strawberrymusic.com/schedule.asp ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Mar 2006 15:52:45 -0500 From: Sonny Lulla Subject: Re: MM: Patty Press Release A friend of mine just played me a couple of tracks from a live recording Patty did for WXRT in Chicago - played me Moses and Useless Desires (greatest song of all time, yes?). Not sure when she recorded it, but it is amazing stuff, if you can find it.
