It's not your typical Sarah Harmer CD, nor does she have a honey-sweet bluegrass voice like Rhonda Vincent or Allison Krause. However, the music is just as genuine. You just gotta love this CD! She'll be in NYC on Sat March 4th at 7pm for a free show at the Living ROom. Awesome venue. Great singer/songwriter. A gentler version of Patty. Not quite as much of a firebrand, but she certainly makes her mark. Check her out if you can. http://www.antjeduvekot.net THanks, Amy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Feb 2006 12:13:32 -0500 From: "Luca, Joseph \(EHS\)" Subject: MM: RE: patty-inspired singer/songwriter to check out Howdy--- I can corroborate the Antje recommendation. After hearing the buzz for a long time, I finally saw her for the first time last weekend, and she was fantastic. She also cites Ellis Paul as a major influence (and friend); and her stage demeanor/humor remind me of Dar. Antje is a multi-instrumentalist, and although she is allegedly from Germany, I could detect no accent whatsoever---in fact, she speaks better English than I and everyone I know... Another Patty-related note: Excuse me if this has been already mentioned, but I just learned that Doug Lancio has produced the new, soon-to-be released CD by the fabulous Robinella (www.robinella.com). She's quite different than Patty, but terrific in her own right.
