It's a $20 cover, a small and intimate space with a bar and they serve food. It should be an excellent show. Antje Duvekot http://www.antjeduvekot.net will be opening. Her fan site is done by the same girl on this list who does http://www.pattynet.net a great patty griffin fan site. Antje writes intense songs and has said that patty is a big influence on her music and songwriting. This will be my first time hearing Ellis Paul live, although as I may have mentioned in the past, I enjoyed listening to the song "Conversations with a Ghost" that I downloaded years ago from the now-defunct Napster that had Patty singing gorgeous harmony vocals and I was taken with his poetic lyrics. I'm sure I'll be taken with the whole show. Anyone in New York who feels like going, should check it out. More info at http://www.makor.org Also, Antje Duvekot will be playing at the LIVING ROOM in New York City on Saturday, March 4th at 7pm. It's a FREE show, she'll be playing just from 7 to 8, followed by Rachel McCartney. Antje is well worth checking out, and I think that Patty fans would really like her, as she has an earnest intensity, an intelligence that comes through, and a strong voice. Perhaps not as piercing as Patty or as intense, but certainly a Antje is a quality performer worth checking out. Mark your calenders if you'll be in NYC for that Living Room show ( http://www.livingroomny.com , fantastic live music venue), and perhaps I'll see some of you Patty Griffin fans at Makor on Thursday! Feel free to introduce yourself if you want...of course, I won't be wearing a sign that says "Patty Griffin enthusiast", but I will be sitting close to the front, with my wavy dark brown hair and winter-faded freckles, and I'll likely be drinking a glass of red wine and looking very into the music. Ok...that's all folks. Hope 2006 is treating you guys well musically, Amy Emerman ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V10 #11 *********************************
