Do as I say, not as I do. My own mother ranted and raved at me (for no other reason than she just finished watching her "OReily" show) how these music sharing lawbreakers should all be going to prison for taking anyone's copyrighted work. Which is neither here nor there, as legitimate arguments exist for both sides and I don't want to get into it. But then two days later she asks me if I can make a copy of one of her friends' CDs for her. Oh, mother. You just don't understand what the record companies really want to do, do you? So, as I handed her the CD, I reminded her that she now has pirated material according to the music industry and we both should go to jail or fined using the music industry's standard of copyrighting. She has since changed her stance on the subject to something more forgiving, like only criticizing the people who distribute thousands and thousands of songs instead of the people who just do "a little CD copy" once or twice a year. ha ha. There is a photo of Patty at the Venice Film Festival from a few weeks AGO, and there also is one of movie star/fan (Kirsten Dunst) bootlegging Patty's performance!! Thanks to my Italian friend (his name is Massimo) for these photos a description of the event and, of course, to Murph and Jen at Time Does the Talking. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 10:00:13 -0700 (PDT) From: Steve Berry Subject: MM: Re: Patty at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival Just returned home from San Francisco, and I'll have pictures posted to my website in a few days.
