Chip Taylor is a veteran singer/songwriter who wrote -- among many other songs -- "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning". Carrie Rodriguez sings beautiful harmonies with Chip, and also plays violin. I'll be there too... can't wait! - -- SteveB mad-mission-digest wrote: Date: Sun, 25 Sep 2005 21:22:17 -0700 From: "King of the Jungle" Subject: MM: Hello! and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival - San Francisco Hello List! I was introduced to 1,000 Kisses a little while back and have been a Patty Griffin fan ever since. I'd like to remind you all in the Bay Area that Patty Griffin will be performing this weekend (Oct. 1, 2) at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate park (http://www.strictlybluegrass.com). It's a free event but I hear that space gets tight quickly. I live just off the park and was planning to show up early to get a good spot in front of Rooster Stage (http://www.strictlybluegrass.com/2005/HSB2005map.pdf) to see Patty Griffin perform! Gates open at 10AM and I was thinking of heading over around 9:30 because I'm short sighted and want to set my beach chair up front. I live about 5 mins from Rooster stage-can my proximity offer any assistance to fellow PG fans? I don't have a parking space to offer but we've got a secure garage in which to store bicycles and such. I'm so excited! I do hope Patty Griffin is as good there as I've seen her in past times. Or even better. I could only imagine her improving, and that's difficult to do when you're the best. Peace love and vegetable rights, Paul *********************************** * * So, I don't put out on the first date. * It's not my style. But I do get very * very drunk on the first date. There are other artists I want to see that are playing at the same time as Patti that I have never seen before but I think Patti is going to get my vote. I am compelled to see her! Thanks to the list for giving me the heads up about this free 2 day concert in SF. I might have forgotten about it had I not read Patti was playing there. Patti rocks. I can't wait. - -Alison in Berkeley, CA ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V9 #184 *********************************
