I've been a fan of Patty's for about five or six years now. In that time she went from "one of my favorites" to "my favorite" singer/songwriter. I love me some Patty Griffin! I just saw her in concert (at Webster Hall) for the first time and I'm still thinking about it. LOVE her new stuff! No Bad News, Peaceful Valley? Forget about it! I hope she records all her new songs. Soon. As far as "perfect albums" are concerned, my first Patty CD was LWG. I bought it at a used CD store that I frequented knowing NOTHING about her! I just felt like buying it from the cover alone! Imagine my surprise. I couldn't get out of my car. Then I started spreading the word like it was gospel! ANYWAY, sorry, so after LWG I bought FR and the rest of them as they were released. Since "perfect" is a relative term I think I could stand by saying that I'd put any of her CD's in that category. So there. Alright, I could go on and on about her genius, but this is starting to get a little gushy and I'm sure you've heard it all before. Other albums that I would deem "perfect": Patty Larkin, A Go-Go Bob Dylan, Blood on the Tracks Joni Mitchell, Miles of Aisles Damien Rice, O Ani Difranco, Living in Clip Tom Waits, Used Songs Shawn Colvin, Cover Girl Thanks for listening. Peace, Joey ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 May 2005 23:40:49 -0400 From: Lance Macdonald Subject: MM: mo poifects Amen Joey. That's been my History with Patty as well. And I'm a Progressive Metal HeadBlues Dog! I also think Miles Of Aisles is one. Here are some more : Late For The Sky, The Pretender and Jackson Browne sometimes mistakenly called Saturate Before Using all by Jackson Browne. Missplaced Childhood by Marrillion. Songs From the Wood and Minstrel In the Gallery- Tull. Closing Time, The Heart Of Saturday Night and Small Change By Mister Waits. Smile and Rainy Day Music- The Jayhawks. Joshua Judges Ruth and The Large Band Albulm - Lyle.John Prine's first and Lost Dogs. Kill 'Em All-Metallica. As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls Pat Metheney and Lyle Mays. These are all perfect albulms start to finish. I hate to not listen to the whole thing once it is on. There are of course others, and if this silly topic continues I Will be compelled to list more. You have been WARNED! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 May 2005 00:03:52 -0400 From: "Susan Lee" Subject: RE: [SPAM] RE: MM: RE: The perfect record?
