Long time listener, first time caller. I agree with so many of you. Not all. In my opinion, 1,000 Kisses is a complete record. The sequencing is fantastic. Each song takes you someplace new. But the whole works. Impossible Dream is different. It's more a collection of songs. When I first heard it, I didn't really get the record. When I got over the fact that it didn't work as well as a whole, I began to love the songs -- each song. And as some have said, it has some of Patty's best songs on it. What hasn't been discussed in this thread is how the songs play live. I used to live in Austin have seen Patty a lot. But when she first played the songs from 1,000 Kisses and did Nobody's Crying . . . You know that note? It's good on A Kiss in Time. But live? The first tour of it? She let that note hang in the air just a second before "Darling I wish you well . . . ." and the crowd stood there, stunned. There are concerts that I'll never forget, but not many single notes. Love Buckingham / Nicks and have >looked forever for it. This was scheduled for release a couple of times, I believe, but hasn't come out yet. I haven't heard why it was postponed or when it would come out. I picked up a vinyl copy on eBay a couple of years ago but I know it's been put out on bootleg/pirated CDs a few times over the years. There is a page on Amazon that was posted by a seller for a copy of it with bonus tracks. If you look further, the bonus tracks are Lindsey Buckingham's album "Law And Order" which appears to be in print. I think that the BN album on Amazon is most likely a bootleg/pirated copy. I don't know if I consider this the perfect record but it keeps making it into my CD player for months at a time---(for years now) Tom Petty "Wildflowers" (I LOVE 'Crawling Back To You'!) I also just discovered Bob Dylan "Oh Mercy" and I never seem to get sick of Fleetwood Mac "Rumors"- - -that actually disappeared from my CD player for years and I stuck it back in one day and realized I still loved it just as much as I did in high school speaking of high school--how about The Cars? I still LOVE that CD and feel the need to 'drag main' and drink beer everytime I hear a Cars song. Sorry Paul--not Guinness--MIller Lite. I didn't drink Guinness in high school! I have tried to listen to Joni Mitchell 'Blue' but I never listened to it when it first came out so it is not growing on me. It sounds very dated. I'm sure this is because I didn't experience it at the beginning. Maybe I'll try again. I always feel like I'm missing something! I better go dig it up again. Ronni in ND Tired of spam? Yahoo!
