So in the meantime, let's clear away some cosmic debris. ~>>>>> Subj: Mike.... Date: 8/15/04 10:44:59 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: charl@designck.com To: MikeBrns4U@aol.com Loved the May 17 submission on the MM list. So pointed as always... Your bit on the gay marriage in Mass. was great!... Thanks for the shout-out in your letter and your very very kind words about my work. I wish Patty would call me for design work, but she has Tracy. And Tracy did good this time around. Impossible Dream's cover is great. Would love to do a really creative and amazing website with her, though. She has so many layers and nuances to who she is and what her work is, her website should reflect that..... Anyhow.... how the hell are you doing these days? You going to be at the Central Park concert on the 18th? If so we will see you there! Lemme know! Charl <<<<<~ Sorry to be so slow Charl on getting back to you. Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. The Bay State House has tried but so far been unsuccessful in overturning the courts on legalized gay marriage. The cradle of liberty has been rocking but the bow has yet to break. On other fronts it has been a sad week for the cause of respect for gay rights with the announcement of New Jersey Governor James McGreevey's plans to step down. While many have piled on in ridicule. However, none other than the radio outlaw Howard Stern spoke up this week, saying McGreevey's being vilified unfairly mainly because he's admitted to being "a gay American." Much more damaging to the cause was the decision by the California Supreme Court invalidating San Franciscan same-sex marriages. They should have taken a page from the Massachusetts Supreme Court. Homophobia is clearly unconstitutional. KKKalifornia should be ashamed. I wish you would send some graphic ideas to Patty Griffin to spice up her website. I agree with your assessment, and from what I've seen of your sharp work you definitely would do right by her. Finally, no, I did not get to the Concert in the Park. Please won't you let us all know how it went down. As for how the hell I'm doing, well, read on, my friend. "...My death waits to allow my friends/A few good times before it ends So let's drink to that/And the passing time But whatever lies behind the door/There is nothing much to do Angel of devil, I don't care/For in front of that door, there is you..." ~>>>>> Subj: Re: MM: What does PATTY mean to me? Or NEw republican? Just curious.), I didn't know Patty had such an outspoken spokesperson. If you would like to deliver your brave wishes in person, you can find me tonight barely able to contain my joy in Section 3, Row G, Seat 3. "I'm a genie in a bottle [rocket], you gotta rub me the right way." Good to see I'm moving people not only to open their mail but to write back. I do so love squalls of pulsing feedback. For more reasons to be hateful, read my very latest blog. It's from the mourning of the passing of my morning today (see link below). Well, I have to get going. I should be on time for the concert and the funeral of my youth. It's gonna be a showdown.
