Anyone caught Patty's set on 'Sounds Eclectic' today? She sounded wonderful! What a voice! She is SO talented... I keep getting chills from Kite, no matter how many times I hear it! It was fun seeing her playing the piano! Anyone else thought they spent waaaay too much time on Doug when Patty was singing? Aaargh! I could have killed whoever was directing this broadcast! I mean, don't misunderstand... I think he looks good and all but Patty was the lead here and it's so rare for us poor European fans to see her live anywhere (Boohoo! ;-)! Anyway... superb performance! Another Ace! When burning an audio CD, Disc at Once is the only thing ou shoudkl ever use. Track at Once turns the burner's laser off after each track is written and creates the gaps that everyone hates. HOWEVER, if you were to say do something totally legal like....."back-up" Playstation games, Track at Once is the only way to go. There are multiple sessions involved in recording a disc like that....several different file formats on the same disc that are read and interpreted in different ways. There is also something else called Session at Once, which you might use for copying Enhanced CD's. But I digress......Sorry to be so technical............ Just wanted to elaborate on the good point that John was making. Sometimes the quality is good, sometimes not so good. That is part of the "live" concept....and makes it more interesting. If you want professional quality...go to the record store and buy what you can...and don't ask for FREE bootleg copies. Geez lady. ( really don't undertand how someone can gripe about something FREE..but then...that whole glass-half-full-issue...and, further, I LOVE to hear the audience input...part of the artistry of it all) I SO appreciate everyone who weeds out.....What a great group of people to share the music. I for one am SO impressed, and so appreciative. Thanks. >From: John Bernhard >To: mad-mission@smoe.org >Subject: MM: DAO vs TAO >Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2004 11:43:47 -0400 > >Ok....a little info on this issue >First off I am not super savvy with computers and only had a stand alone >burner audio style for the last three years >but recently got a computer burner >Most people have the computer burners >When they get set up initially ( or everytime you use them ) you have an >option to select recording mode >DAO is disc at once and this copies the cds as is >TAO is track at once and this inserts a gap ( gaps can be adjusted from >.05 to 2.5 secs or so ) >There is no reason to ever burn a music cd in TAO >The resulting glitched copies with gaps are almost impossible to fix ( >remove gaps ) >and pollute the trading pool >MP3's also by nature insert gaps ( at least I believe this true ) >MP3's are a crappy data compressed inferior copy of the original and also >should be avoided like the plague ( imho ) >hope this helps >your operating manual should cover this as well and help you navigate the >issue with your particular burner >John _________________________________________________________________ Watch the online reality show Mixed Messages with a friend and enter to win a trip to NY http://www.msnmessenger-download.click-url.com/go/onm00200497ave/direct/01/ "Fight them without becoming them." --J.
