She is my ultimate favorite, although Patty comes a very close second. The dvd is just beautiful, and those new songs *swoon*. I can't wait until her full length cd comes out with all new material. It's been a while!! I am sure that there are more Patty and Tori fans out there. These women bring more to the table then any other artists i have ever heard. Even though their style of music is different they really have a lot of similarities. From: "Sarah Stanley" To: Subject: MM: Re: off topic Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 20:32:02 -0400 YES! I was dying for it and soooo excited when it came out! Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to pre-order it to get a signed copy before those were sold out, so I just waited and got it on the day it dropped. :) It's WONDERFUL ... and I was so so so excited to see Tash (Natashya, her daughter) on there! She looks exactly like Tori when she was that age!!! Tori is my absolute favorite.... I've met her a few times and been to LOTS of shows, so this is one chick who is definitely excited that there are some Patty fans that also really dig Tori. :D ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You're gonna dance to jah music, dance, We're gonna dance to jah music, dance, Forget your troubles and dance, Forget your sorrows and dance, Forget your sickness and dance, Forget your weakness and dance. . ." -- Bob Marley ----- Original Message ----- From: Lindee To: Mad-Mission@smoe.org Sent: Sunday, May 23, 2004 6:43 PM Subject: MM: off topic Just wondering if anyone has picked up Tori Amos's new DVD....it's fabulous! The hotline # tells you to listen to KGSR for the ticket giveaway announcement. I had been calling that damn number everyday and listening to that damn radio station until I can't think straight!! I even called KGSR this morning around 10 or 11. ...the guy said they had not been given any info on the giveaway. So, I'm listening to the radio and 5 minutes ago, the chick says, the tickets were given out at 11:30 and they were gone by 11:37!! ...what a liar that guy is! arrrghhh...I'm so frustrated with them! oh well...what can ya do?! sorry for the rant...just venting... ...I guess there's really no way to get those tickets unless you have an inside word on where and when the giveaway is... ...sheryl ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 May 2004 17:11:21 -0400 From: sharon G Subject: MM: adam duritz listening to patty Adam Duritz from the Counting Crows wrote in his update that his friend Mary-Louise (parker?) told him to get Patty Griffin cds.. see the CC list and under his name are his updates... sharon back from a weekend of Chapin... see this rockin band tour.. its not to be missed...Mrs C is at the top of her game and coming back around east...she is out west next month.. catch her following patty around.... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 May 2004 16:40:34 -0500 From: "Steve Gilmore" Subject: MM: Willamette Valley Folk Festival--Eugene, Oregon Friday, I was listening to KLCC in Eugene, Oregon, via the Internet. It's a very eclectic, Patty-Friendly station. That night, they broadcast performances from the Willamette Valley Folk Festival over the aiair. Sounded like a very good performance. Anyone on the list attend it (or hear it over the air)? Steve Gilmore Charlotte, NC USA Be yourself. It's the one thing you can do better than anyone else can do.
