I particularly got a kick out his description of Doug's solos as "... the least phallo-centric[sic], showboating solo of all-time". Which basically says it was the most effeminate showboating solo this homophobe has ever seen. Geeez. Then there was his Patty quote "Wouldn't it be better if instead of killing people flew kites?". Not to mention his hyper-hyphenation. Somebody, quick, buy this guy a copy of "Eat, Shoots & Leaves" before he writes again! So a word of encouragement Patty Faithful. At the next concert, can you be confident enough to show some irreverence and trash the theater on your way out? I mean, would it kill ya to at least upturn some trash cans? We're starting to lose the respect of the media..... I got to see Patty last night in St. Paul and she put on a great show. These songs are sooo much fun and she seems to be having a great time performing. I don't know what that Milwaukee reviewer was talking about--lack of confidence?? I don't get it, yes, this was a different show but lack of confidence is the last thing I could think to say about her. She looked so beautiful. A lime green t-shirt and a great body-hugging skirt with someone's photo on it (anyone know if that was ANYONE?) and those amazing red high heels. If I had those shoes, I'd never take them off and I never dress up! Sexy! I don't have a set list but she opened with Standing and Love Throw A Line. Everything just sounded so good and the band added so much to these songs. I love the drummer and Michael Ramos and Doug Lancio's guitar playing. She had so much fun performing Go Now and Mil Besos that I absolutely loved watching her sing them. I've always loved Go Now. I think her voice is so well suited to that type of song. I cried when she sang Icicles. I think that song should be played loudly at the end of some movie, just before credits roll. Can't you hear it there? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I liked Craig Ross as her opener. I would say that the songs all sounded similar but they were good. Just him and JD Foster (is he famous somehow?? a great songwriter? producer? How do I know that name??) on guitars. I thought it sounded good. My sister bought the CD and it's with full band and Patty even does some vocals so maybe that helps change the songs up a bit. Anyway, as you can see I'm far from a professional reviewer but I loved the show and it was so upbeat and fun. I'm whipped today from driving 8 hours in one day but it was worth it! Thank you Patty and band! Ronni Yahoo! Sarah, The exact same thing happened to me back during the Songwriters tour in Albany, NY. There's definately something shady going on with seating and which seats are available and when. There's probably some VIP thing going on that we're not hip to.
