I am thinking that Patty cut the concert a bit short because of the flu she had. Blue Sky was hard rocking. In some ways it was the highlight of the excellent show. It is hard to see sometimes how this petite woman has such a big voice. Was it just me, or did Patty momentarily get a bit off track on her piano playing? It was either on Kite or MoG, I cannot remember. Cold as it Gets started as the Dylan-folk song that it is on the CD, but evolved into folk-rock. Just a question, but when are the Dixie Chicks going to cover Useless Desires? Truth #2 had a somewhat different tempo than I had heard in previous concerts. Doug played a robust dobro. Patty mentioned Murph's name during the encore. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 May 2004 06:47:08 -0500 From: "Maggie Reidy" Subject: MM: Patty shows Hi Fellow Mmers, I haven't been to a Patty show in awhile and I was just wondering if anyone still brings the M&Ms to her shows? I'm going to see her in a few weeks and I was wondering if that's how we still show her our support... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 May 2004 08:59:32 -0400 From: "Rodney Norton" Subject: Re: MM: Patty shows I was just to the Witaker Center show last evening and although I expected to see some I did not. A great, great show as usual. I'm sure there will be some more indepth reviews coming soon. - ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: "Maggie Reidy" Reply-To: Date: Tue, 4 May 2004 06:47:08 -0500 Hi Fellow Mmers, I haven't been to a Patty show in awhile and I was just wondering if anyone still brings the M&Ms to her shows? I've been a fan of Abra's for awhile now, but each of her two previous albums were hit and miss, although the "hit" moments were really fantastic. Well, her new CD, "Everything Changed," is full of pure "hit" moments. It's just amazing, every song. I haven't heard an album this good in years - reminds me of how I felt when I heard the first Tori Amos CD - just couldn't stop listening to it. This is definitely one of those moments for an artist when everything just comes together perfectly. In fact, Abra has similar tales to tell of her time in the music industry. She recorded an album that was to come out a couple years ago, but decided it wasn't representative of her. Her record company had tried to get her to write with other people and change her sound. She went along with it, but just didn't feel right, and her record company actually allowed her to buy the album back and keep it from being released. The new CD is the result of her staying true to herself. Anyway, I hate seeing brilliant artists out there who don't get the credit they deserve, so I highly suggest you check out this new CD. I don't think you'll regret it.... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 May 2004 13:47:13 +0000 From: jmphlbat@comcast.net Subject: Re: MM: Patty shows There was some back stage after the show > I was just to the Witaker Center show last evening and although I expected to > see some I did not. > > A great, great show as usual.
