I blame AM Records for that one - not Patty. I wish that Silver Bell would just be officially be released gosh darn it! That way she could release more of her music. In in one word: AWESOME!!! I love this album more than I have ever loved any album, but then again I say this about every new Patty album, but it is always true!! :) The CD has been in my player since I got it and literally cannot stop playing it. Florida, The Rowing Song, and Useless Desires keep getting stuck in my head and I'm constantly singing them. I mean has there ever been more perfect songs than these? The imagery in UD and Florida is beyond amazingly good, while the simple tragic melody of TRS is hauntingly wonderful. (OKOKOK I'll stop drooling all over my keyboard). However, I really love every cut on the album, and this love only deepens with each play of the CD. So, wow is pretty much describes what I think of this album. In many ways, I think this is Patty's most complete album because every track fits perfectly together with the next one and the entire album takes you on a journey, which is what makes it almost necessary to listen to the entire album as a whole. This kind of completeness on an album is very rare and leaves listeners with a strange sense of perfection every time they spin the disc. This is really the first Patty album to do this because the others, while unspeakably brilliant, tended to work best as vignettes. Each song a story, but not contributing to one giant story. As for people complaining about Patty putting songs from Silver Bell on here, well I think they work wonderfully here and I am glad that the entire public will not get to hear them. Plus, I find it extremely fascinating to see how the songs have changed from the two recordings: this is especially the case with "Top of the World" and "Mother of God". I'm not sure but didn't she add lines to "Mother of God" on ID? Those lines in many ways change the way I listen to the song because it gives the song a tragic sense of hope that it didn't have before. Don't you guys think? I could keep going, but I reign myself in and merely say that this album is awesome and, as always, I feel beyond blessed that I get the privilege of hearing it. Now I just need some CA shows and I officially will be in heaven!! :) Have a good one all! Later, Amy-- who will now turn back on the Patty and proceed to her HW induced lurking! ;) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo!
