I am sure I speak for a lot of list members by saying that we appreciate your efforts. I will be sure to make my contribution in the next week or two. But I have a question, which may seem silly given Patty's past commitment to the issue of landmines. Sometimes people's priorities shift to a different good cause. As I said, Patty's heart has been absolutely tied to the problem of landmines, and I assume that this would be the organization that Patty would like to direct donations, but are we sure? Just thought I'd ask. We asked her directly what would she like the charity to be this year and she started to talk about the "Landmine Free World Campaign". When she did her whole person changed, she more alive at that moment than I have ever seen her on stage, big eyes, excited, unbelievable body language. For that 5 minutes her whole heart and soul was transformed. She talked about going to SE Asia and seeing first hand what happened, she spoke of the war in Iraqi, not of the war but of the challenges that are faced by the people who are hurt by landmines. She spoke about how special this was to her because we would be making donations to people we would never meet and that by what we did, we would be helping them. We also discussed that the organization may be unpopular to some people and she said it was really for those who were effected. So "are we sure" Yes I am 100% sure Murph - -----Original Message----- From: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org [mailto:owner-mad-mission@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Jerry Skomer Sent: Saturday, January 03, 2004 3:59 AM To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: MM: Patty B-day contribution Hi Jim: Thanks for organizing this again!
