Mom says "doesn't she sing anything happy?" - nope, happy is not allowed. Mom will probably be happy to go back to the home after this DVD is done. After a Christmas Dinner that couldn't be beat- ala A. Guthrie- I would like to say Merry Christmas to any who are having Christmas today- and Happy Holidays to all- keep safe this week- from earthquakes, etc. Cheers, Dana ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Dec 2003 02:02:34 +0000 From: Danalee7@comcast.net Subject: MM: new weed offer Shawn Colvin Duets, Live, Rare and Alternate Takes This is an audio 1 Cd compilation that I was sent this week by Char and I love some of these tracks, especially Amelia with Mary Chapin Carpenter. Singing with Dave Matthews is actually a singer-songwriter named Shannon Worrell. I know this for a fact because I heard it from Shawn's lips when I saw her at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma this past summer. She mentioned she'd seen the misinformation about this song circulating on the Internet, and indeed, "Eleanor" comes up on almost every Shawn Colvin search on Kaaza, etc. -- or so I've been told. ;-) It DOES sound just like Colvin and as Worrell is little known I can see why the mistake has been made. I went to allmusic.com and checked out Worrell's info and she has a couple of albums out and some reviews do mention the Colvinesque nature of her voice. "Eleanor," which Worrell wrote, is from her 1994 CD Three Wishes; it's also collected on an anthology called Aware II also released in 1994. Anyway, I'm sending this message to the whole list so that this "urban myth" is not further perpetuated. ;-) Steven On Thursday, December 25, 2003, at 06:02 PM, Danalee7@comcast.net wrote: > This is an audio 1 Cd compilation that I was sent this week by Char > and I love some of these tracks, especially Amelia with Mary Chapin > Carpenter. Hopefully not more, but I don't know as I did not put this set together. I still don't mind sharing it as it does promote this unknown to me at least singer, but if the list does not want it vined or weeded out , ok. I understand. We do try not to cross the line of released material. Dana - ------------ Song #8 on the CD you're kindly offering to share is not Shawn Colvin.
