Hi Everyone I hope no one minds, but I'm wondering what other SST (Mail Order Brides) shows are out there. Before the holidays pull me under, I'd love to set up some trades. Thanks to this list, I have Keswick (Glenside, PA) and DC. I also have Chicago and Milwaukee. Thanks! Marie ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Dec 2003 21:46:35 EST From: MikeBrns4U@aol.com Subject: MM: Saturday Night Is The Maddest Night Night Of The Week... Live from The Way Mouth, it's... SATURDAY NIGHT IS DEAD! But just in case you're still alive and missed it... 1) Dana needs Julie, Fran and Ollie to write him. (I kid, I kid. I kid Dana. But seriously, he needs someone to write him. So...) 2) Dana, which do you think are the best weed shows circulating? And why? I would actually appreciate hearing from any of you Patty freaks who care to chime in on how "A Kiss In Time" rates in comparison to the other shows/tours circulating. And how you rate her studio albums as well. I'm sure you folks have done this like a thousand damn times before, so I will understand if you're all mostly too bored to be bothered. But if any of you are like me and can't resist spouting off, you can spray all over me. I myself just started getting into PG. I saw "Niagara Niagara" on IFC TV a few months ago, and there were two PG songs in the movie. "Not Alone" really put the hook in me. I only have the albums "Ghosts" and "Kiss In Time" so far. "Ghosts" is so good it's scary. I guess I should have seen her on tour back then. "Kiss in Time" I just started listening to for the first time tonight. Not too wild about it so far. But I'll have to listen to it some more to make a fuller judgement. This is the first time I've heard her playing with a band. On "Ghosts" she didn't need no stinking band. 3) It's that time of the show where we would like to give a shout out and HOW! To Danalee, Elena, and Oldrancocas (EG), for the warm welcome to the Mad Mission. Now could you please take off this straightjacket? 4) Let us have madness openly. 0 men Of my generation. Ok Mike Burns- lets have a Saturday Night diagogue :) "Live from The Way Mouth, it's... SATURDAY NIGHT IS DEAD!" ya, for all of us losers online Sat nite... "1) Dana needs Fran & Mitchell to write him." And they still haven't - all I need to know is exactly what I was supposed to burn for them and I cannot do it until they remind me.....I could guess at Lincoln or Carnegie. And I am not a him- I am a grandma in fact! My name I will finally tell this list is pronounced as in Donna, not the usual Dana. I don't think I have ever mentioned that. "(I kid, I kid. I kid Dana. But seriously, he needs someone to write him. So...) " thanks for the help.... "2) Dana, which do you think are the best weed shows circulating? And why?" Each one has its own personality. Hard to choose. The ones I sent out I did so because I think any devoted Patty fan on this list would really enjoy hearing them. Quality is pretty good on all of them altho none is as good as the quality of Patty's new concert Cd A Kiss In Time which I think is so absolutely clear and sweet. "I would actually appreciate hearing from any of you Patty freaks who care to chime in on how "A Kiss In Time" rates in comparison to the other shows/tourscirculating." well, see above- "And how you rate her studio albums as well." Personally- LWG will probably always be my fave- it was my intro to Patty's music and that is how I still like to hear her best- solo acoustic. Flaming Red is so different - rocking- but I love it- except for a couple tracks I could skip- Wiggley is not on my fave list, either is Big Daddy. I won't skip them tho, I still listen to every song she does and they grow on me. Silver Bell- is an amazing collection of her varied styles- I don't think I know it as well as the others tho. All good songs. 1000 Kisses is totally sweet as I am more into ballads than hard rocking stuff. Beautiful Still, if I could take only 1 of her albums to a desert island, it would be LWG. "I'm sure you folks have done this like a thousand damn times before, so I will understand if you're all mostly too bored to be bothered. But if any of you are like me and can't resist spouting off, you can spray all over me." It is ok- I have been getting a kick out of your posts- you are gonna liven us up if you stay on this list. Are you sure you are not somehow related to EG? We could use some more interaction between people on here and new people add a new perspective to the conversation too. Welcome. " I myself just started getting into PG." I discovered PG in Nov of 96- got hooked on Not Alone also. I caught onto Patty with the first listen thru of LWG which I was able to do in my car alone driving half an hr each way to work, so I could concentrate. As I pulled into my driveway, I was listening to Not Alone for the first time and I could not go in the house- I stayed out there in the dark in my car and played Not Alone a dozen times before I went inside. I was snagged. :) "I saw "Niagara Niagara" on IFC TV a few months ago, and there were two PG songs in the movie. "Not Alone" really put the hook in me." I tried to watch that movie but guess it put me to sleep -kind of miserable I thought. I should try it again. "I only have the albums "Ghosts" and "Kiss In Time" so far." You NEED the other two. Silver Bell you can ask for from me or others here on the list, but only after you get and learn Flaming Red and 1000 Kisses- then you will appreciate it. When you NEED more Patty, then you are ready for it. It will be waiting, don't worry. "Ghosts" is so good it's scary. I guess I should have seen her on tour back then." I saw her open for Shawn Colvin at Green Hall in Northampton and solo acoustic show at Eli Whitney Barn in Hamden, Ct spring of 97. She was so good- so small and with this huge voice and her guitar work right on. harmonics and all. She was shy then, she has come out a lot in her stage chatter and ease up there. "Kiss in Time" I just started listening to for the first time tonight. Not too wild about it so far. But I'll have to listen to it some more to make a fuller judgement. This is the first time I've heard her playing with a band.On "Ghosts" she didn't need no stinking band." I listened to it first time in the tub- don't laugh- set up with candles and dark- water to the top- and closed my eyes and just absorbed it. Best Sat nite I could have at this point- :) oh and one of EG's French Martinis too. You are right - I love the band, but she is great to listen to solo. You will get into the band sound. "3) It's that time of the show where we would like to give a shout out and HOW! To Danalee, Elena, and Oldrancocas (EG), for the warm welcome to the Mad Mission. Now could you please take off this straightjacket?" Maybe you need one of EG's French Martinis also. I think I might myself. Thank you. Why not, I am not going anywhere- altho he swears they are great for driving around town. "4) Let us have madness openly. 0 men Of my generation. I think my personality may be a little sunnier than yours. 5) --- Mike Burns, "Let Us Have Mad Mission" Dana in Berkeley- catching up on my trade and B&P promises and I think I will take a holiday till after Christmas before I offer any more. That Post Office is for the birds lately. Hold me to that promise you guys.
