Dear Mad Missionaries, This is my first time writing the People on the P List. Hope this works for you. 1) Re: PG and the gals on Ellen. "Long Ride Home" was a deep cut and a choice selection of songs to play. A Patty Griffin song no less! She looked and sang great. The harmony was nice, but not much of it really there though, seemed just a showcase for Patty. Works for me. A moving moment on a throwaway show. Thanks, Patty, for bring more than a touch of class to network daytime TV. 2) Here's my Thanksgiving message that I sent to my online buds. Don't worry, it is Patty related. And so now I send this belated Thanksgiving, and early Xmas/New Year's message in a bopper out to you, my new friends, if I may be so bold to put you on lo and beholden... EHAPPY THANKSGIVINGE bMerry Christmasb vHappy New Yearv from Mike Burns ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Dec 2003 20:53:11 +0000 From: Danalee7@comcast.net Subject: MM: Falling Down, John Doe Yesterday I had the chance to listen to most of the Carnegie Hall concert and was quite impressed with the band version of Falling Down, Emmy Lou doing backup. Very full sound. I always loved that song. Today I have Lincoln Center concert on and MCC just did John Doe- that song was a chiller to me first time I heard her do it on a TV special a few years ago- dark stage- so mellow- captivating. I have it anyway on one of her Cds but I would love to hear it live myself. Thank you to whoever caught these shows and enable those of us who cannot be there to hear these moments- they should not be lost. To those waiting to get them from me- some are being mailed today- hopefully the rest tomorrow. I am behind as I have been working every day except today- have to pay penance for last week off in SD playing hooky! :) Dana ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Dec 2003 16:12:22 -0500 From: Oldrancocas@aol.com Subject: Re: MM: This is my 1st time, so please be gentle... LMAO! Welcome Mike. EG ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2003 03:59:48 +0000 From: danalee7@comcast.net Subject: MM: Strawberry Music Festival 2004 tix on sale! And I already bought mine! One for my 17 yr old as well. They sold out early last year and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth- so if you are interested in this awesome music festival at Camp Mather at Yosemite, CA, go to their web site and check it out and get your tix early. If you cannot go in the end, it is easy to sell them to desperate would-be concert goers so don't worry about that. Both Spring and Fall 4 day fests are sold for $270 total if purchased early by Feb. That might sound steep, but it is for 8 days of music- all wonderful- as well as camping privileges, music jams all night long if you are up for it- stars like you never saw before and just a great experience for all ages. My 17 yr old is not into that type of music but had a great time with other teens there and she did listen to it the whole time as it is broadcasted all over camp. If you need a reason to visit California this is the best one I could think of. Skip LA and SF- go to Yosemite. I love these music fests- Jackie Greene will be back next Fall- that is a good example of why I love them- I always discover new artists that I love. Memorial and Labor Day weekends- Thurs 8 am thru Mon- leave camp by noon on Mon. Rave rave rave!
