I really love her duet with Jules Shear on his beautiful album "Between Us". They sing a song called "Windows and Walls". But I think that my favorite non-album song by Patty would have to be "Regarding Mary" from the Niagara Niagara soundtrack- It's one of those songs that I have to listen to again as soon as it's done playing. These are obviously not from the Birchmere show. OBL appears to be a remix of the original song with leg slap and strings added. IWTB seems to be a studio quality rendition. Can someone familiar with this boot let the list know if these were commercial releases. I'm concerned that they may be part of compilation albums, something I don't have many of for Patty. While there, I heard announced that they were recording the concert. Since then, I've tried to track down an 'official' recording of the show, with no success. I talked with the Theater management, the production company and even the management companies of one of the performers, but they couldn't help. I'm sure that's not surprising to anyone here, but I thought I'd mention the background. Anyway, that's making a short story long. The concert was _great_, but even more, had a sentimental value to me. I would Very Much like to get a recording of the show, as unabridged as possible. If anyone has a copy or can give me a contact that I might not have thought of to try for an official copy, I'd be very appreciative! I hope this isn't an inappropriate message for the list, if so, my apologies. Thanks for you help! I am pretty sure that the copy you have is probably the Cd that my boyfriend, Masaki, mastered about 4 yrs ago right after I introduced him to Patty's music and he saw her open for Lucinda at San Francisco. He got snagged right away! I had sent him this concert on tape, and he Cd'd it, adding a couple tracks for filler. I had used the I Write the Book as filler for him as well, from a compilation CD, I forget which one- with various artists. I am not sure where One Big Love would have come from. The reason this concert fits on one Cd altho it is a normal number of songs that is usually on 2 Cds is he cut applause, etc. so it is not intact in that regard. Now we wouldn't put on a track from a released Cd but then we were not so aware of that issue. I have sent this one out to lots of people and turned them onto Patty with it as an introductory Cd as well- something about that first track- Wayfaring Stranger just snags them. Like I said, this has become my favorite Patty show, thank you. Folks, I am highly ambivalent about trading boots to begin with, but have come up with enough rationalizations to participate. And even though I know these fillers were added with best of intentions, and I hate creating a schism in the lineage of the Birchmere boot, I'm afraid I can't stretch my rationalizations to cover these last two tracks. Therefore, I am going to send this out with only the tracks performed at Birchmere. If that is not acceptable to those I've arranged a trade/B&P with, I completely understand and you should feel free to make other arrangements.
