I don't yet know where to meet but I can figure it out while any others decide if they want to join in. I know a couple of other folks who are coming plus Dana. Any one else here going? So I will try to respond to you on list. - ------------ Hi Lori- I would say go to Ticketmaster- but which show are you interested in going to? I have no idea if they are sold out. SLO and SR are seated, the Warfield of course can pack them in standing even if the balcony seats are sold out. I bet you can still get seats. Dana ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Nov 2003 18:35:02 +0000 From: Danalee7@comcast.net Subject: MM: No JB, PG, B&J- rant and rave Eliza Gilkyson I am sending a little rant and rave about Eliza Gilkyson to you guys on my 3 lists- I just saw Eliza Gilkyson play her heart out each of the past 2 nights- where was everyone? Jeez, this woman is so talented, such great songs, I love her voice, good sound, great guitar, backup with percussion and slide guitar , so beautiful and charasmatic to see live, not trading on her looks, but on her songs alone, she has been around doing this since the 60's when she was young, how come she is not better received? Maybe 25 people were at Sweetwater Tues and maybe the Freight was half full last night. Both audiences were there for her and seemed familiar with her songs, encores of course both shows, but what a waste that all these other absent ones in the Bay area did not drop everything to be there. Anyone who likes JB, Patty Griffin or Buddy and Julie, Emmy Lou etc would have to love Eliza's music as well. I am totally recommending that you give her a good listen, her last 2 Cds- Hard Times In Babylon, Lost and Found- they are the songs she is mostly doing in concert these days, altho she did requests from all of her Cds- just about anything asked of her. She played 2 1/2 hrs each night. If she comes around your area, spend a night out there listening to this awesome singersongwriter- she is totally worthy of your time and attention. Right up there now on my growing faves list! I will be there any time she is in my area for sure. Patty's homies , Eliza Gilkyson & Michael Fracasso , who opened quite a few shows on her 1000 Kisses tour , were thankfully in the top tier of non-Patty acts that I've seen since I've been going to Patty concerts. Eliza's live show definitely transcends her CDs , as she positively sparkles on stage , & tells hilarious stories between the songs that display her immense talent.
