Kris Delmhorst opened for Patty in Great Barrington in July and the response she got from Patty fans was fantastic. She's got a new album out, Songs For a Hurricane....definitely worth checking out. KRIS DELMHORST'S CD RELEASE CONCERT with Special Guest PETER MULVEY Sat., Oct. 18th, 8 PM, Somerville Theatre, Davis Sq., Somerville, MA The sweet-voiced, singer-songwriter-poet releases another great new album and welcomes special guest and friend Peter Mulvey to open the show . . . thus, returning the favor to Kris, when she supported his album release show a year earlier. A multi-instrumentalist (guitar, fiddle, & cello) from Brooklyn, N.Y. who now resides in the Boston area, Kris will be playing with various musicians (TBA) to showcase her new songs. With her distinctive voice, powerful lyrics, haunting melodies, and endlessly charming stage presence, Kris has developed into one of the best draws on the Boston Singer/Songwriter scene. Peter, who put on a tremendous show last year, as Special Guest, plays a longer opening set than usual, thus doubling the treat for fans. Tickets: $19.50, $18.50, Add $1, Day of Show. Your best seats are available by calling Songstreet at 617-628-3390. Tickets are also available at the Somerville Theater box office daily from 1pm-9pm or by calling Ticketmaster at 617-931-2000. What ATO has done is put together a remembrance of a great night in Nashville. With Emmylou Harris and Buddy and Julie Miller helping out on a few numbers, Patty takes us on a divine trip. OK enough of the creative writing Dave, Don, Jen and the rest of you Patty fans out there get ready for October 7th when this CD become available. What ATO actually has done is release an excellent boot. Congratulations to them for leaving in the talk, noise, pops and tunings between songs. Judging by the airiness of the recording and the pounding bass line, which the band played throughout this mini tour, it is my guess that they just propped up a mic and hit record on their minidisk. The CD opens as did the shows with the recording of a French bell tower right into A Long Ride Home, followed by Goodbye and then Christina. It is the 4th song that grabbed my attention. In Don Henns review of the show he questioned the use of Jay Joyce on Peter Pan as he found his guitar loud and intensive. What they have done here is up the piano and muted the guitar into a hunting background harmony to Pattys piano. Rain is still special as is Mad Mission. Julie Miller shows up on Be Careful and they have included a little of the back and forth talk between the songs here which is great. Emmylou joins them on Mary and then Patty takes us home with Fly as it is listed and Nobodys Crying. The CD concludes with Patty reappearing again telling us we have interrupted her glass of wine. 10 Million Miles will make you thirsty for more. A typo on the song list on the promo names the 8th song Tory which kind of follows some of the pre-order listing of 10 Million Mules. Hope they make the corrections before the 7th. Have not had the opportunity to see the DVD as of yet but this release is a great filler between 1000 Kisses and the new CD that Patty is working on. So for all of you who have been looking for a copy of the Ryman, here it is. Worse yet, it is with messages saying nothing...example....ahhh, julia darling. If you could post to whatever list this is and ask that no one reply to that original post I would appreciate it. I am sorry that I sent the announcement out not knowing that it would get replied to like this. Any help you can give would be appreciated :)Lynn Just FYI Yahoo!
