My first time seeing Patty and I was in the FRONT ROW!!! She was like 8 feet away from me...it was surreal. I have NEVER been in the front row for anything. (I had 6th row for Tori last year and that was pretty cool) Patty's voice just blew me away as I knew it would. She had this really funky dress on with jeans underneath. She looked SO tiny. I felt bad because the theater was very warm and you could tell she was sweating a lot-she commented on it a couple of times. I REALLY enjoyed "Chief" "Making Pies" and "Long Ride Home" and of course, everything else. She did play a couple of new ones and they sounded terrific. At one point she messed up on "Be Careful" and mentioned that the new songbook was out and that she should get herself a copy. LOL She talked a lot and was very funny. OH...she did a Bessie Smith song-her voice is so perfect for the blues-WOW. It was fabulous. We really enjoyed Kris as well-picked up her CD. I could not understand why there were no Patty Cds out front. Oh well. One weird thing.....the concert was delayed and we had to wait out front for a long time.....the management came out and said her plane had been delayed. Well, during the concert, Patty mentioned that she flew in the day before...so we were all wondering what the problem really had been. She did look a bit under the weather.... Well, I was not disappointed that's for sure... A Bessie Smith cover, wow! Must have been something. Cheers, Hugues ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V7 #183 *********************************
