I'm a big fan since I have discovered "Walking Home" a few years ago through a friend's mixed CD and, sort of fell in love with that song (which is on her third album, "The Way I Should"). Iris seems to live in a golden age of her past, and to still deal hardly with a disappointing reality. I think it's a kind of trauma she expressed through her wonderful songs. She sings her heart, her despair, her regrets in a strong and genuine delivery. Not only her voice can reach a high purity of emotion, but she can write great simple songs, like Hank Williams. And she's a gifted musician and melodist. "Sweet Is The Melody" may be my favourite song, but they are numerous ("Our Town", "Childhood Memories", etc...). To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: MM: Patty show this weekend Date: Wed, 2 Jul 2003 10:11:39 -0500 Does anyone know what time Patty is performing at Willie Nelson's picnic this Saturday? I really want to go, but the website doesn't list a specific time, just noon-midnight performances. I can't stay that long, so I would like to be there around the time that she and Shawn Colvin go on. Thanks!
