They can't really be held responsible for what other people say. Possibly it gives her the money to tour more and experiment more, which has to be a good thing! She has high aspirations, counting songwriters like Patty Griffin, Bonnie Raitt and Joni Mitchell among her heroes. "I would die to be Patty Griffin!" Branch exclaims. "She just takes you through every single emotion. I wish everyone in the world knew about her." _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself with cool emoticons - download MSN Messenger today! http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jun 2003 09:08:17 -0700 From: "Steve Del" Subject: MM: Unbelievable tour news All I can say is, YES! OhMy. Here's the info I had that I posted to the Shawn list...including the letter from MCC. - ------------- Hi all, Forgive me if this has already been posted...but I'm so out of the loop...I can't even see the loop. Anyway...Gerry was good enough to send me information that was posted on Mary Chapin Carpenter's site about a possible East Coast tour involving Chapin, Shawn, and PATTY GRIFFIN. I think Dar Williams was the 4th artist involved. I can't access my other email at this time and get the actual MCC letter...so maybe Gerry will post that info here (hint, hint Gerry!). I hope this tour happens and it's at time when (and place where) I can attend it! Though I would do some serious schedule juggling in order to make it if Patty is really included in this. That will be one great show. This is really the only music related news that has peaked my interest for a quite some time. Oh..and here is that letter from MCC: - ------ "I hope this finds everyone doing well; it has stopped raining for a little while in the east. The sun is out today, and it is hot as hell. The headaches have abated somewhat, but the medicine now makes me lose my memory and I can't remember my own songs. I guess that 's what they make lyric sheets for, right? So now it's just time to get ready to go back to California for the weekend. I have a surprise for those who are coming to the Kate Wolf Festival this weekend. It's bigger than a breadbox too. Looks like the new album session dates are going to really happen this time, unless we all get fired again, after the Philly folk Fest in August into September. So a new lp should be out first quarter of next year with tour to follow. Also, the dates haven't been announced yet but it looks like in place of a band tour this fall, a songwriter's tour really is going to happen. It will be Shawn, myself, Dar and Patty Griffin. There will be east coast and some Midwest dates, I am told there will possibly be some west coast dates and there may even be a London date after the first of the year, but don't quote me on that. I am ecstatic that everyone was available. That's it for now, phew, hope that's enough! Gee, is it just me, or do you think all that money that Geo Bush is raising to get re elected could go to poor families tax credits? Oh, sorry, I am just grumpy from headaches. Peace Mc2" - ------ SteadyOnSummer, - -Denise C.
