Here is an example: Yesterday in the mail I received a VHS tape of some Patty performances. This tape was a trade I had made about 2 months ago and had actually forgot about, so I was happy to see it finally arrive. Then last night one of the disciples sent me an email asking if I had a show on VHS, well the show was part of the tape I had just got. I do not have a dual tape machine but the other person did so I sent my new tape along with another to this person so she could copy it. Today. I get an email from another disciple asking if I would like a copy of another Patty show on VHS which I didn't have. She had no way of making a copy though so I emailed the first person who said she also wanted a copy and so it was sent to her to make copies for all. A three way Patty swap going from Pennsylvania to Missouri to Louisiana and back again Life is good in Patty land. On the same subject, even thou we all talk to each other through this medium and never really ever meet it is funny how our thoughts go out to those we have met here. Last week with all the news about the horrible weather in the country, I started to wonder if a member of this forum and her family were safe. She was, thou she spent a night in a basement closet. That is what I find different on this page from others, there is a sense of community and as Dave said "dedication". The words, thoughts and music of Patty Griffin have made a difference! - -----Original Message----- From: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org [mailto:owner-mad-mission@smoe.org]On Behalf Of FlamingRed74@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 10:00 PM To: sdelfante@hotmail.com Cc: Mad-Mission@smoe.org Subject: Re: MM: Bootleging THIS is the kind of Patty dedication I'm talking about! When I take friends on road trips, we almost always end up listening to Patty (& Darcie Miner). When they ask for copies of original CDs, I either make them buy the real CD, or (if I really like them), I but it for them. Once they become addicted (they always do), then I burn them some boots. We, as Patty disciples (we used to call ourselves that here) uphere to a higher standard than some fans. :-) I'm willing to burn some Led Zeppelin or whatever for people.. but Patty material is definitely different. I must've bought 5 "Kisses" CDs already. ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V7 #134 *********************************
