It's amazing. If you can stomach a very honest story about rape and survival, I suggest also reading Alice Sebold's memoir, Lucky. It's gripping. And then if you like that I can suggest more... what can I say, I work in a bookstore and am a total addict. Anyway, happy reading. I played briefly, so I was just wondering. ~Denise _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? I'm SO psyched! I've been blabbing about Patty Griffin to anyone that would listen for about a month now. I finally decided to make my sister a CD since we have similar tastes in music. I put together a nice selection of Patty stuff and popped it in the mail. I live about 40 minutes from my sister and she works tons of hours. She called me from her cell phone the other night completely freaked out by the CD. She said she has not been knocked out by a musical artist like this in so long. I agreed. It was so cool to hear the enthusiasm in her voice and now I have someone to rant to about Patty who will understand! She actually went right to a record store that night and bought the two Patty Cds she could find. I had sent her "Blue Sky"....."Tony"....."Mary"...."Sweet Lorraine"...."Rain"...."One Big Love"..."Carry Me"...."Night"(live-did she write that one??)...."Christina"...and a couple of others. My sister is crazy about "Christina"..does anyone know what this is about or who Christina is? She actually e-mailed me from work today to ask me about it-very unusual occurrence! Right now I'm nuts about "Sweet Lorraine" and "Night"....and "Forgiveness"....heehe..my sister hasn't even heard that one yet...just wait. COOL, LINDEE You can imagine how psyched so many of us are, always !!!. There are alot of us singer/songwriter types out here that are so enthralled with Pattys genius!!!! Ever heard that expression, about sports figure Michael Jordan..."Be Like Mike?" Well, all I can say is..."Be Like Patty" Jewel Kilcher is also one super exiting songwriter...check her out...I recommend the "Spirit" CD if you haven't heard much Jewel! ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V7 #127 *********************************
