So there you go. I love Aimee probably as much as I love Patty, but to me they're just so different I can't compare them directly. There's just such a different feel or mood to their styles, IMO. For anyone trying out Aimee for the first time, I'd suggest sampling her latest, 'Lost in Space', which you can listen to for free on aimeemann.com with RealAudio, WMP, or Flash. (From the index page click on 'listen'.) Or maybe start with the Magnolia soundtrack; something about that particular collection of songs, the track order, and the production just gets me every time. (Of course, if you hated the movie--which I didn't, but I can understand why people did--you may have a different experience.) And if you don't like Aimee, well, there's still a couple Supertramp songs that the label made them include. On another OT note, Maia Sharp opened that show, and she's great, too. Excellent musicianship. - -Amanda In a message dated 4/5/2003 8:34:11 AM Eastern Standard Time, scott@scottantall.com writes: > > > I must disagree about Aimee Mann. I have *tried* to like > her! Just to let everyone know I have received my Patty autographed guitar. I am so thankful. It is a real beauty and I can't wait to learn to play. I'd like to thank the academy....err I mean I think Murph deserves a special thanks from all of us for putting this idea together and making it such a success!!! He is a gentleman and a scholar and did a grand job. KUDOS You may/may nor remember I was the one that posted the idea about a Patty cruise some time back. Almost every one agreed that they liked the idea but thought in would likely be uncomfortable for Patty. I thought that would be the general consensus but had to try anyway. Thanks again for letting me be part of a great group and the birthday drive even though I am more of a reader than a poster.
