Hey everyone, This post by Evil Gary reminded me about Patty songs with sexual meanings..... A few months ago, I read an article in our local entertainment magazine, The Rage, that said Patty had a song about (to quote them) "lack of orgasm". So I searched and searched and the only one that could possibly fit the description is "Mad Mission". So now when I hear that song, it has a completely new meaning for me because I guess I'd never given it much thought before. When she sang it at the Ryman, I just laughed hysterically because I had heard it for, what, 6 years now, and yet it was brand new. Am I the only one who didn't know this?? Or am I completely wrong? Please don't make too much fun of me. I've always been the one who didn't "get it". - -Misty In a message dated 4/3/2003 2:09:57 PM Eastern Standard Time, owner-mad-mission-digest@smoe.org writes: > Does anyone else get the feeling this song is about > having sex in a limo with a Ho? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Apr 2003 13:09:06 -0800 From: "Elena" Subject: MM: Re: Mad Mission meaning? Huh. Mad Mission (the song, not the list) might have a little somethin' to do with reaching the apex when gettin' a little somethin' somethin', but the opening lyrics, about everybody watching Casablanca and being all sentimental really speaks more about finding, well, you know, actual love and not just reaching orgasm, to me. I mean, if you read the lyrics, yes, filtered through some sort of lusty glasses the lyrics kinda make you chuckle, but from the perspective of someone who's 'looking for love in all the wrong places', it's a much better song. It seems more possible (to me) that the author of the article you read either misunderstood Mad Mission the song, or maybe misunderstood the lyrics to "Wiggley Fingers," which is far more suggestive. Or maybe the part in Every Little Bit? Okay, now I'm overanalyzing. Just my .02... The songs I'm the most curious about there meaning lately are "Be Careful" and the ever mysterious "Big Daddy". Any takers on those? - --Elena - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Thursday, April 03, 2003 12:44 PM Subject: MM: Mad Mission meaning? > Hey everyone, > > This post by Evil Gary reminded me about Patty songs with sexual meanings..... > > A few months ago, I read an article in our local entertainment magazine, The Rage, that said Patty had a song about (to quote them) "lack of orgasm".
