Steven ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Feb 2003 11:40:46 -0500 From: "Booms, Holly" Subject: MM: RE: Murph's soliloquy on bootlegs Yes, I think we all feel it, this need to collect live shows even though we all know deep down that Patty does not get any profit from them. I have used boots to introduce Patty and other artists to friends, who then bought their studio albums, but by and large, the profit is mine. I am also a huge Sheryl Crow fan, and have more boots of her live shows than any other artist. I belong to her website fan forum, and we are in the final days of a donation drive for her pet charity, the Delta Children's Homes in her hometown of Kennett, MO. We do it every year for her birthday (Feb 11th), and this year we were able to donate over $10,000!! I gave a much larger donation than I would have SIMPLY to assuage my guilt over trading her boots so extensively. This was my way to give Sheryl something back for all of them. Maybe we could do a similar drive for a charity for Patty? Does she have a particular favorite charity? When is her birthday? As you know, Patty performs as part of their series of Concerts For A Landmine Free World". Since Patty's birthday is March 16th, and only about a month away, we'll have to work fast. And we have some incentives for you, beyond the goodness of your heart! For each $5.00 donation you make, your name will be entered into a drawing for a special Patty Grffin prize...that we'll announce in a later message, so stay tuned! The website URL for making a donation is: http://www.vvaf.org/contribute/index.shtml They use PayPal for their donations, so there is a $10.00 minimum. But Paypal will allow you to make a donation via your debit or credit card, so it is VERY convenient. When you make your donation, there is a field marked "Where did you hear about us?". Please choose "Other", and enter "Donation given in the name of Patty Griffin as part of the Birthday Drive". In order to be entered in the drawing, you MUST: 1. make a donation, $10 minimum. 2. email a copy of your confirmation email, along with your name and address and the amount of your donation to: pattygriffinbirthdaydrive@yahoo.com 3. Then I will enter your name the appropriate number of times into the drawing for the Patty Birthday prize package, winner to be drawn on March 16th, 2003!! **************************************************************************** *************** C'MON PATTY FANS, LET'S MAKE THIS A BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER !! **************************************************************************** *************** you can email any questions to me at: pattygriffinbirthdaydrive@yahoo.com (or if you have any Patty items that you'd like to donate as part of the prize package) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2003 10:14:24 +1000 From: "J.
