Hi Everyone,
Well, I've read all the recent reviews of the folk fest and Patty's
other recent shows and I must say, my opion differs.  My husband and I
paid quite a sum for the tickets to the folk fest...just to see Patty.
We actually had to pay a membership fee to join the Ark in order to buy
our tickets first....I wanted to be close so we paid a lot for those
tickets.  I really wasn't all that interested in any of the other "folk"
artists but was hoping I would hear something new that I liked.  We got
there late since we had to drive from the Detroit area...we caught Jeff
Lang and his steel guitar and enjoyed his set very much.  Then....after
much anxiety...Patty finally came out on stage.  It was incredible to
see her and hear her I could barley sit still.  But, sit still I did!  I
was close but surrounded by a bunch of people checking their watches!
No one around me seemed excited at all!  I could barely contain myself,
I could have stood through her whole performance.  I felt the audience
was lacking enthusiasm!  Maybe I'm too used to concerts where alcohol is
served and people get a bit excited about the performer!  This seemed
way too stiff to me!  

Overall, I would have paid double to see her in any venue but feel a bit
cheated!  To see her in Kalamazoo cost next to nothing and you got a lot
more Patty!  At the folk festival she had to share time with other
artists that frankly didn't compare at all!  I left not hearing many of
the songs I love so much and just feeling like I wanted so much more!  

I can't wait to see her again and I know that I would go to the folk
festival again if she's headlining but missing her in Kalamazoo was a
big mistake on my part.

She was great in every way.  But it just wasn't enough.

The Good in Technology Example:  Going to the Patty show, at the Scottish
Rite on Saturday night, and receiving the recording on Wed. 
Now the funny part.
I just bought a house in this little town (99 homes total) where you have no
mail box and you have to pick up your mail at this really cool little post
office on the corner.  Well the Scottish Rite recording, Murph sends me,
does not fit into my PO box.  So I have to pick it up at the window and the
Post Master hands me the package addressed "C/O the Evil One" on it. LMAO!
I can hear the talk around town now , "So have you heard that someone that
goes by "The Evil One" has moved into the house on the corner?!" LMFAO! 
Thanks Murph!  A really great recording!

I just thought I'd pass this on...it's an email from a friend of mine on
another artist's messageboard. She went to see Patty for the first time ever
having heard about her on her nephew's recommendation, and this is her
review:

"I went with a friend who also didn't really know her music and we just
loved her humor. She just seemed like someone you could be friends with. She
was drinking her water and spilled it on her guitar and said "Oh shit now
I'll probably get electricuted..oh never mind its an acoustic". She told us
all about her band leader but forgot to say his name, started next song but
people screamed out "what's his name?" and she was so flustered she had
forgotten that she got the giggles and couldn't start the next song. She
mentioned that the next song she was gonna do sometimes made her have to go
pee cuz it was about water, I could go on and on. I came right home and
ordered all her cd's from Amazon!"

LOL! Don't you LOVE Patty-neophytes??? And they all say "WHY haven't I heard
of her before??!?!"
