OK guys--here's something you can help out with if you choose to. If you don't choose to, just ignore it and don't flame me. An up and coming Minneapolis talent with a ton of good original music--Hattie Peterson-- is also putting together some covers in order to be able to play the bar scene with her band to make some cash to support the original stuff. It's acoustic guitar-drums-bass-electric guitar. She has an incredible Joplin-esque voice, but not quite as gravelly. No backup vocals to speak of. Now, the question: What are a few upbeat danceable tunes that you love to hear when you go out and hear a cover band? They are trying to stay away from doing the exact same tunes everybody else do, so extra points for originality, though not looking for tunes nobody has ever heard of. Just no "Blister in the Sun" or "I Will Survive." Thanks!! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jan 2003 18:05:27 -0500 From: "Lisa Zwick" Subject: MM: Re: Boston lyrics Yeah I hear it as "giant" as well. - -Lisa - --- > There were thousands of people > Just like you in a giant graveyard ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jan 2003 18:15:52 -0500 From: "Gary Jacques" Subject: MM: Evil Checks In I want to say congrats to the Mich. Grad. Way to go kiddo. Everyone else "Happy New Year!!" Oh Yeah, I have narrowed the pre-show bar down to two for the Jan 25 show in Collingswood, NJ. I will advise on the winner soon. Address and map to follow. 88.5 WXPN -home of LIVE AT THE WORLD CAFE, chooses Patty's Mil Besos as number 7 CD of the Year. Always an honor to be picked in the top ten of the best 50 for the year on XPN. I think LWG was number 16 one year and I'm sure Flaming Red finished at #3 the year it was released. Back to the Collingswood show. The Scottish Rite is an amazing venue. Be there. EG ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V7 #5 *******************************
