Subject: MM: 1000 Kisses hits London Just thought I'd mention that Time Out, the London listings mag, has included 1000 Kisses in its "Critics Choice" music column, declaring it: "A soft and steely, sad and elemental work of beauty, intimacy and confession" Meanwhile, in their letters column, they have also printed an e-mail I sent to them singing the praises of the critic who wrote the main review last week: "First he picks up on Veda Hille, then he picks up on the stunning Patty Griffin. This man is obviously a genius and has impeccable taste". On the other hand, I seem to have lost my ticket to the Billy Bragg/Patty Griffin gig. As I wasn't even sure I was going to make it in one piece (the show I'm producing closes Nov 30th, and something tells me, what with the get-out and accompanying sense of anti-climax, I'm not going to be in any fit state to make it over to Shepherds Bush), I can at least comfort myself with the knowledge that I've booked to see her at the Bush Hall. And I ain't missing THAT. adam k. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2002 08:17:45 -0500 From: "Lori Garvey" Subject: MM: Antigone Rising, Michele Malone (no Patty content) Hello! Sat night I will be at the 2nd Festival of Rising Stars Concert. It's Michele Malone, Carla something, and Antigone Rising. I've never heard any of them What should I expect - what kind of music does each of them play?/ Is Antigone Rising the female version of Led Zeppelin?? Someone told me they are like that. (that would be so cool) Lori ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #378 *********************************
