WHat you have is probably the studio tracks in reverse alphabetical order. While this order sounds appropriate, the tracks should be ordered: 1) Little God 2) Boston 3) Perfect White Girls 4) Truth #2 5) What You Are 6) Silver Bell 7) Driving 8) Sooner Or Later 9) Top Of The World 10) Sorry And Sad 11) Making Pies 12) Mother Of God 13) One More Girl 14) Standing The version I have has the same reverse alphabetical order that you have, and I haven't bothered to rearrange the CD in the correct/intended order because I like the pace of the reverse alphabetical order boot. Supposedly, there are transitions between a few of the tracks in the intended studio order that stand out. BTW, my authority on this order is some other posters on the Patty Griffin mailing list, but I trust their credibility. Hope this helps. I just wrote him about the incorrect song order, so don't spam him about this facet of the review. One memorable quote from the review: "You must retain control of your work. You must retain control of your work, you must retain control of your work." That pretty much says it all. Hi Mad Missioners! I happened to catch the tail end of Mountain Stage this weekend & heard the announcer say, "Join us next time when our guests will be and Patty Griffin." Does next time mean this Saturday? I seem to remember someone on the list writing about the 28th of September. If anyone knows for certain when Patty will be on & could write me, I'd be ever so grateful! Thanks! I asked this question in my longish posting from the other day, but got no response. This leads me to think: 1) that no one read far enough to see the question, 2) no one knows if Emmylou is singing backup, 3) no one cares! I choose to think it is none of the above! So, please, does anyone know who is singing backup to Patty on Truth #2? Jerry ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Sep 2002 12:24:02 -0500 (Central Daylight Time) From: "Janet C. Jordan M.D." Subject: MM: Glenn's review I would need more that a minute to rebuttal each point, but the disturbing undertone of "fault" diminishes any more of the content. Was Michael Angelo at fault because to survive as an artist in his time, he was commissioned by the Catholic Church?????..........Hence the Sistine Chapel. ........ I would never fault an artist, with gifts I could only dream of........... for not recognizing the stark inhumanism of the recording industry, (the whole business world for that matter). That naivety in itself, is a gift... ..and one for which she has paid ......... 1000 Kisses is an experience that can only be appreciated by a listener who hears with her/his heart. Anyone who dissects the order of the songs has obviously not built a bridge between his/her left and right brain. And an artist who can literally move. ....or should I say........STOP the Latin listeners, when she sings in a language foreign to her..........is an artist with a gift........... There is no room for critique.......with an artist like Patty.........only admiration, amaze.......and wonder at what we don't really understand...... but can still feel......
