I am looking for just one more ticket to see Patty at the World Cafe taping in Pittsburgh. I am a WYEP member and got 4 tickets, but we have 5 people. The tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes!! I have friends would will drive from Toledo and Washington DC and one even coming all the way from Pakistan! OK, not JUST for the show, but she is a big fan! :) Anyway, if there are any WYEP members out there who got tickets and happen to have an extra one, I would try to find any way to make it up to you! Masaki got to go in to SF with me which was nice as he was unable to get to the Friday show due to work. Patty did 4 songs from the new CD- maybe 30 people were there in the studio. She had her backup players with her and they sounded great of course- This is the second KFOG concert I was lucky enough to get to- last Feb was Bruce Cockburn. It will be aired some Sunday AM in the future- Acoustic Sunrise so some of you Bay area locals may be able to record it off the broadcast if you pay attention. Patty spoke to a few of us afterwards- Masaki asked her to record Mother Of God next CD and I chimed in with Florida. When I was at the Bruce Cockburn KFOG concert, I asked them to get Patty for a concert and who would have ever guessed that I would have been able to actually be present even if they did it! Afterwards, Masaki took me out to Little Joes in North Beach for some great Italian food- he has lived here for 20 years and knows lots of places that in 3 years I have not found yet, altho I am getting braver in SF, considering that I would not even drive in Berkeley for the first 3 months after I moved here from my little town in CT. The drivers and Pedestrians especially are crazed around here and Berkeley itself really confused me, not to mention the freeways and horrific Bay Bridge which I still avoid at all costs. There are lots of good concert opportunities tho and I have to use my famous restraint regularly. Shawn/Dar, Catie, Indigo Girls are coming up in the next month. Nields also. Kate Wolf Fest. Jackson Browne/Tom Petty in Sept. So many concerts, so little time.
