LOL Richards, Crow Honor Nelson "Despite the night's air of subtle shilling, it did have its transcendent moments as well, most notably Nelson's duet with folk singer Griffin on "Angels Flying Too Close to the Ground." Her sweet, sincere voice sounded more country than most of the show's acts, and Nelson's spare harmonies added just the right enhancement" Reminds me of the Landmine Free Concert, where everyone on stage had won a Grammy I think, except Patty. She simply made everyone else sound less important by night's end. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 05:54:16 -0700 (PDT) From: "Michael Jay Sherman" Subject: MM: Silver Bell track listing Hey all, New to the list. I first saw Patty Griffin at the Warner theatre in D.C. opening for Emmylou Harris on Oct 14, 2000, and was just completely blown away by her voice. Just her and a guitar. Amazing. I saw her at the Birchmere last year, and of course have tickets for the May 1 show in a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to some great discussion on the list, and thanks to all for providing this service. I have a question, though. Does anyone have a somewhat official track listing for Silver Bell? A generous fan is helping me acquire the tracks, and I wanted to make some CD cover artwork, so a listing of tracks would be very helpful. Thanks! - -Mike P.S. - I'm into trading live shows, so if anyone else is interested in helping me get started with some of her shows, that'd be great. B+P, 2:1, or I have a huge collection of U2 material. - -- Michael J. ALL YOU MUSICIANS OUT THERE>>>>>>> And I know there are a lot of you! This is the best list I have ever been on because I always get a response! My brother just started this great website for bands that aren't quite huge yet to promote themselves on and keep fans up to date on upcoming shows Kinda like a "pollstar" for unsigned bands. Please at least check it out and spread the word. This is what bands like us have been waiting for. www.bandcentralusa.com At least check it out and if you like it fill in your band info and link to your webpage! I knew it was one I listened to over and over at one point...but just couldn't remember which one (there are so many, can't keep track of them). I was listening to Silverbell all day...I think it's my favorite of the four. I love every song, except for Standing (don't shoot me!). I still can't believe they could turn down such an amazing album. And I can't help thinking of how great all her other songs would be as studio versions. How ironic is it that most artists (even new ones) have 4 or 5 cds out in a few yrs, but it was so long before we got a new one from Patty...and it has nothing to do with lack of material. So many great songs, hopefully they'll make it to cd some day. With all these amazing songs out there that's she's written and sung, we should all have a much bigger collection of albums from her. But I'm just stating the obvious... - -Lisa - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Tuesday, April 16, 2002 11:19 PM Subject: Re: MM: Re: New Thread....Top 10 Favorite Patty lyrics > Made of Clay. > Possibly one of the most amazing songs ever written...by anyone :) > -Carrie ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Apr 2002 00:17:34 -0400 From: "Sarah Stanley" Subject: Re: MM: Top 10 Favorite Patty lyrics >From: Mystchif1@aol.com > >Top ten favorite lines in songs by Patty.
