Yes she did, and I recall, she was a bit gruff about the whole thing... sort of letting everyone know that she'd been around for 10 already or something like that. Pretty funny. - -----Original Message----- From: Rongrittz@aol.com [mailto:Rongrittz@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, April 03, 2002 8:37 PM To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: MM: Re: Best New Artist. >> Shelby Lynn, 2002 << Hell, didn't she win Best New Artist for her fourth album? They should at least do what they do with the Country Music Awards, and re-name the award "Breakthrough Artist" so at least they'd be able to recognize an artist (new or otherwise) whose work finally reaches a level of mass acceptance with slapping it with a ridiculous "new artist" label. I will be recording the WFLT live broadcast tonight but will be on a plane when the one on the 10th on WFUV airs. Is there anyone out there who can tape this off the air? I have several Patty videos and audiotapes and CD's I can offer in trade. Thanks. Here is the info on the WFLT broadcast: On Wednesday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m. [East Coast time I assume], tune in to WFUV's live broadcast of Patty's in-studio performance and interview on 'City Folk Live'. New York City area listeners can listen to the program on 90.7 FM. The show will be webacast live at http://www.wfuv.org. Please contact me privately; thanks! Good morning listees, I just got a phone call from a friend that works for a regional concert promoter for the southeast region, and I was informed of a new concert date for Patty Griffin as well as another upcoming show that has not been confirmed yet. Patty Griffin will be playing the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA on May 8, 2002. Patty will also be playing Nashville, TN again at the Ryman Auditorium either the day before or after the Atlanta show, but a date and the venue have not been confirmed. Also, for anyone who can be in Nashville, TN tonight, I have an extra ticket for tonight's show at 3rd and Lindsley. Just send me an email or phone me at 615-554-7774 to make arrangements to get the ticket. Well, I am looking forward to tonight's show. I will be taking photos and recording the entire set tonight, and I will be forwarding the photos and recording of the show to Jen@pattygriffin.net tonight to post on her site. Take care and have a good day. - - Sanders ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Apr 2002 08:58:05 -0800 From: "Scheiner, Andy" Subject: MM: RE: FWD: Patty Griffin Live Broadcasts, Tourdates, In-Stores and more!! Hi All, FYI: For those of you wanting to record one or both of the upcoming live broadcasts, but not able to pick up the FM signal because of geographic location, there is a piece of software which will enable you to record the sound stream of the live web-casts. I discovered it last night. It's called Total Recorder and can be found at the folowing url: http://www.highcriteria.com/. It's not free, but it's resonably priced (it costs $12.95 - U.S. $), it can be set up to record on a timer (like your home VHS video recorder), and is available for Win 95 /98 /Me /NT /2000 /XP. - Andy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Apr 2002 12:28:27 -0500 From: "Connell, Michael P" Subject: MM: Extra webcast news - Re: Patty Griffin Live Broadcasts ATO Records newsletter announced: > Patty Griffin's Thursday night show (April 4) for Lightning 100 at 3rd & > Lindsley in Nashville, which has long been sold out, will now, due to > popular demand, be broadcast and webcast live, beginning at 9:30 p.m. CST. > Nashville area listeners can hear it on 100.1 and 94.1. I just checked out the WRLT website and it says there that Patty will be in their studio today at 5:00pm (Central Time Zone) live on the radio to talk about her show tonight etc etc. The text from the website: PATTY GRIFFIN IN STUDIO TODAY (Thur. 4/4) Patty Griffin visits with David Hall at 5pm in the Lightning 100 studio. She'll talk about her show tonight at 3rd & Lindsley, her new CD, and play us a couple of songs live on-air! Don't miss it! So, we have an added bonus to listen to tonight, the live radio show at 5pm CT and the concert webcast at 9:30pm ET, both available at www.wrlt.com Mike P.S. If someone already announced this, I apologize. Been very preoccupied the last 36 hours and haven't had the chance to even come close to keeping up with the list. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Apr 2002 12:34:14 -0500 From: "Connell, Michael P" Subject: MM: Correction - RE: Extra webcast news - Re: Patty Griffin Live Broa dcasts I typo'd: > So, we have an added bonus to listen to tonight, the live radio show at 5pm > CT and the concert webcast at 9:30pm ET, both available at www.wrlt.com Ooooops! Of course I meant 9:30pm CT (Central time) for the concert webcast, not ET. Mike ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #115 *********************************
