[Superball Nine ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 30 Mar 2002 01:35:51 EST From: MactheMutt@aol.com Subject: MM: small venue I saw Harry Chapin at the Bridge-View Theatre in Valparaiso, Indiana just a couple months before he was killed in the automobile accident...it seats maybe a thousand..at the most. That was a great concert. Just him and his geetar...he gave the story behind the songs he did and after the concert stood in the lobby so we could shake his hand and talk to him.......and that was AFTER "Cat's in the Cradle"....so he was already a big star. I bought a shirt that said.."Harry, that song sucks". In case you're saying to yourself....."so".......it was just that the small venue discussion reminded me of that, and I was bored. I saw the GREAT John Hartford at a very small couple hundred capacity coffee house in Valpo in the 90's. I'll never forget that. He did an intermission halfway thru the show, then sat down in the back and signed stuff. I asked him to do something off the "Aereo-plane" record, and he said.."Ok, if I remember how to play anything off that record." When he got back on stage...the first thing he said was "Aereo-plane eh?" then broke right into that song. I fell over. Anybody else know who he is? APRIL 17....I get to see the one and only PATTY...in Chicago. Can't wait. I just about started crying! Even though I've listened to it on that website I was just caught off guard and it's such a great song. Also--I do love the new Sheryl Crow single although by the time the CD comes out I may be totally sick of it! Ronni Yahoo! I turned the car on, there was her voice. I thought, 'i have this on tape?' Then, realized it was just the radio. Sadly, less than 2 minutes into the song the cd started to skip.. for almost a minute.. then "One Big Love" emmylou's version cut in. Hopefully that means the song is being OVER played. Excited. matthew ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Mar 2002 17:01:10 EST From: Elpenor50@aol.com Subject: MM: Satellite I heard one of her new songs yesterday on satellite. But they were so rude to us, making us stand outside in the cold for HOURS, not even knowing if we'd be let in, even tho we all came at the time they told us to. And then started late. So it almost wasn't really worth it (considering I'm not a big fan of her music...just like some of it) - -Lisa > > Great idea for a new thread to keep everyone interested... But I was happy to hear it on that station ;) > > jess ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #108 *********************************
