I'm 100% pro-shn. They are extremely popular in the trading world as they are a lossless compression. However, they cannot be traded via audiogalaxy because audiogalaxy only looks for things with an mp3 extension so as to not spread viruses or let others into your files that you don't want in. I believe we could use somethin like Direct Connect for this though. We'd just need lots of people with lots of bandwidth. - here's hoping! I have called Telecharge several times as well as checked their site and they have no sign of the show. I have called Joe's Pub direct several times. I left a message initially, they called back and said tickets would be available on Telecharge Monday or Tuesday, which hasn't happened. On each subsequent call to the club I got the machine, except last night, when the guy I spoke to told me I have to call back today (Tuesday) after 11 AM to order tickets. I have called twice, second time left a message. I am paranoid that the show is going to sell out by the time I get in touch with someone!! I got home yesterday (where I do NOT have a T1 connection to the internet but a 26 kb connection to the internet) and had to filter through 30 messages from mad-mission. This is after reading my mail until 3:30 at work. I think the discussion group has been great, but do you know how long it takes to read and delete 30 posts at snail speed. The other reason that there has been a mass exodus is becuase Jennifer's site probably caused a mass sign-up for mad-mission, and a percentage of those people who are new mad-missioners are bound to quit after checking out the content of the discussion list. So, give them a break. Probably the only reason I'm sticking with it is that my work connection to the internet is T1. DT > > WHY IS EVERYONE LEAVING US? WAS IT SOMETHING WE SAID?? Try FREE Yahoo! Basically, so you know, we have two other versions of the list, digest and news-only. If you want a lot less actual emails but the same content, I suggest you move to digest AND also subscribe to the news version. If you want news about Patty only and no discussion, I then suggest the news only version. The email below tells you how to unsubscribe from any of the versions, it also mentions how to subscribe to any of the three versions. Any questions, please feel free to ask me. Mike - list owner ************************************************* The form-reply: Before you unsubscribe, please note there IS a news only version of the Patty Griffin mailing list.
