For anyone who doesn't know who John Mayer is - don't worry... you will soon! He just got signed by Columbia and they are re-releasing his album, "Room for Squares" on 9/18. The first 1000 people to pre-order this cd will receive a bonus cd of John doing live versions of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Lenny" and Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary." Oh yeah, you can also pre-order a copy of Room For Squares on vinyl! The CD is $15 which includes shipment for delivery on the 18th! So... we've got a Room For Squares Re-release party all set up for those in the metro-Detroit area. Here are the details: Date: September 10 Time: 7:30 - 9:30 Where: Espresso Royale on Main Street - downtown Ann Arbor (next to a Karate place - same block as Mongolian BBQ) We will be previewing the new album (Which has one new song - 3 X 5 and 7 of the older songs are remixed) and giving away lots of cool free stuff including many copies of John's performance at the Blind Pig on 8/22, CD's, posters, stickers, and more! You can pre-order the cd for delivery on the 18th and there will also be other cd's for sale (I'll be getting rid of the rest of my older RFS which are now out of print, we'll have some Aware Compilations, Howie Day, Granian, Knee Deep Shag, etc for sale also). Even if you have never heard of John you should come anyway! Espresso Royale is offering us all Latte's for the price of coffee so you should at least come out to have some Latte and meet some cool new people! Please come and bring all of your friends so we can show Columbia what a good investment they made in John! We have a special prize for whoever brings the most people with them! If you have any questions or you want to pre-order the CD but can't make it to the party then please contact me at jcaputo@umich.edu. Hope to see you all there!
