I've been following The Badlees & going to a lot of their shows for years now (they are actually how I discovered Patty b/c she opened for them). Pete's new CD is kind of pop/rock, and as Mike said, he has a great voice. A lot of those songs get stuck in your head, that's for sure! If I'm going to recommend Pete's CD, then I HAVE to mention The Cellarbirds new CD called "Perfect Smile". The Cellarbirds are 3/5 of The Badlees, and the main songwriter of The Badlees, Bret Alexander is the guitarist/vocalist on their Cd. Their CD is incredibly diverse.. ranging from edgy modern rock (but with more melody than typical "modern rock"), to even a bit folk/country sounding. Bret is simply an amazing songwriter, & I will ALWAYS buy ANY CD that he plays on. Perfect Smile has not left the CD case in my car since it was released, and I don't think I've gone more than 4 or 5 days without listening to it from beginning to end, it's THAT good! That is all, Dave.. over and out. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2001 22:35:21 EDT From: Joe0324@aol.com Subject: Re: MM: RE: Sedona show? hey guys- anybody know what time Patty is slated to play that day in Sedona? thanks, joe ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2001 22:48:37 EDT From: Danalee7@aol.com Subject: Re: MM: RE: Sedona show? Hi Joe- we don't know the lineup order yet, but I would guess that John Trudell may open as he did a couple of years ago. Maybe Steve Earle will be last- maybe he is better known than Patty- just my guess. That would put Patty 2nd or 3rd. I have not seen Jackson go last as the headliner- he seems to let his guests have that honor. This year he is supposed to be bringing his band, so that may be different. It would be nice if they get one more act for the show. Well, unless they let each of these singers have long sets- 1 1/2 hrs each would be fine with me. Usually it is about 50 min with a 10 min break. Patty can never sing long enough for me. Reg tickets are $40 from Ticketmaster. The concert runs from 12 -6 Pm- you can enter at 10:30 Am I think- and the group encore at sundown with the moon going down over the red rocks is always a thrill.
