I write for a free indie music mag, SnapPop! (www.snappopmag.com), and attempted to get an interview with Patty when she comes through Alexandria, VA for her Birchmere show. Her management team couldn't have been more nice, but politely told me that Patty wasn't granting interviews at the moment due to her Interscope situation and the fact that there isn't a new album to discuss. They did, however, inquire for more information from me so that when Patty is granting interviews I will get some phone time. They sang a Buffalo Springfield song and a Tom Waits song. When the DJ (Kevin Connor) asked her what she's been doing lately, she wasn't eager to answer. She didnt seem like she wanted to talk. You could barely hear her speaking in the mic either because the volume of her mic was way way down or because she speaking off mic. All she said was that she had just finished recording a new cd and it should be out sometime next year. There was a vague hint that she might be showing up Saturday night at the Backyard where Emmylou Harris is scheduled to play, with Buddy Miller opening.
