With her already completed followup on ice thanks to label and legal wranglings, she is said to be preparing a starker, folkier release more like her first CD, Living with Ghosts. Always a treat live with a stellar band, as evidenced at last year's River Stages and Uptown Mix performances. http://www.nashvillerage.com/music/features/041201-dance/ I don't know how must to trust this... Could just be a rumor but since this is Nashville where industry folks outnumber non-industry and since Patty has friends here, there could well be some truth to it. I wish we knew for sure! Ugh. - -Misty, who wonders why artists don't just learn... GO THE INDIE ROUTE! It will save you headache and heartache. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2001 12:47:43 From: "Nancy Micciulla" Subject: MM: npc -- gig alert! hey everyone! i just wanted to write and let you know that i'll be playing here at school on april 28th. i'm at IUP, near pittsburgh. so if anyone wants more details, lemme know! i hope you all have a great holiday weekend! nancy Hey everyone! God, I can only hope for a "Living With Ghosts" 2. It seems like in this "Making The Band" genre of music where "baby I'm on fire, burning with desire" seems to be the phrase of choice, there would be no room for an actually good or lyrically sound album that says something. Here's to crossing fingers! :-) John - --- MistyBC@aol.com wrote: > From "The Rage" (published by The Tennessean)-- > > JUNE 7 Dancin in the District > Patty Griffin (headliner) - Sad but true, the music industry didn't > get > behind former Nashvillian Griffin's last CD, a rock-pop classic > called > Flaming Red that sounds even more remarkable now than it did when > released > three years ago.
