A minimum of 2 hours away from any culture. But I've found one station here that will actually listen to requests, and play them. I've heard Patty on several occasions and I don't listen to radio all that much. I've become friends with one of the "djs", and she's added "Goodbye" to her own bands' set list. Anyone who says calling in requests doesn't work; doesn't know what they're talking about. They may not play them right away... but if you keep it up, they will. And when folks hear something on the radio... they want to hear more.... so THEY then call or email... it's a very big snowball starting. But, it's gotta start somewhere. And here, it's gonna start with me. I've gotten my favorite band played on there fairly regularly, where they weren't before. So, next in my crusade is Patty. I'll start that on Monday. The station is KLRR (www.klrr.com) if you feel like taking a look at the format. Email them a request. I know I will, as well as calling them up. The P.D. is on vacation this week, but I'll find a way to talk to him when he gets back. He's a good guy. Plays "non-mainstream" stuff all the time. I'm rambling now... so I'll ramble on outta here...
