You'd think we'd have some pretty decent stations out here, but alas, it is all crap. Every time we get an AAA station, it loses its format. The last 2 have gone Spanish. The late, great KEDG went "lite." I give up. At least this one still has a home on the internet. For you LA folk, Nicole Sandler has been keeping us up to date on the transformation of worldclass.com on the Yellowroom (an internet BB that got its start on the KSCA web site). She is looking for feedback on the playlist as they tweak it. Let her know. They have begun playing more Dar, but the only Patty song they've been playing is "One Big Love." But hey, nobody else in LA is playing any Patty, so I won't complain. Also, check out KCRW (89.9 or kcrw.edu). Weekend Becomes Eclectic (with Anne Litt) is a really awesome show, and you might hear some Patty on there). From 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. P.S. Someone asked about "Beyond the Blue"...It's from the movie, "Where the Heart Is." - -Pamela (who's too damn old to like Brittney Spears and too damn smart to like Michael Bolton) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2000 09:23:37 EDT From: SteadyOnDC@aol.com Subject: MM: Re: Beyond The Blue "Ronni Heggen" asked: <> The song "Beyond The Blue" performed by Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris is on the "ANYWHERE BUT HERE" Movie Soundtrack CD. I don't have the cd near me at the moment...so I'm not sure who wrote it. - -Denise C. The Anywhere But Here soundtrack also has a Patty song though, Twisted Road, and I get the two soundtracks confused all the time too, because I've never seen either movie, and they both have Natalie Portman in them. Anyhow, Beyond the Blue was written by Beth Nielsen Chapman and Gary Nicholson. I forgot what kinds of guitars Patty uses, and someone just wrote to me (through the lyrics site) and asked. Can someone please refresh my memory? Thanks guys :) I move back into school tomorrow morning... bright and early... at 8. Ugh. Those of you who are near the South Jersey shore, should definitely check this place out! It's mostly blues, but they usually book some smoking performers there. (Sure, the heads up now that summer's over, right! :) the site is bubbamac.com...see ya! ~Patty~ PS: good luck to everybody back to cracking the books!
