I remembered that name because i have a friend with that name. so thats kind of cool, eh? same guitarist played with the dixie chicks....anyone know anything about this guy? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2000 01:01:21 EST From: UMCaner74@aol.com Subject: Re: MM: nothing of importance Hey guys.. I would also like to thank Don for giving us the scoop on the "Patty cruise" that we all so dearly would have liked to have attended! I feel proud to say that there was a fellow MM'er who was actually there. On somewhat of a non-Patty note. I ventured out to see my most beloved band The Badlees (for about the 50th time) last night. I was able to give Pete the singer a tape with him and Patty doing a duet of the song "Never Been to Spain"... pretty cool huh? It was a in studio recording, .... of course only a slightly obsessed Patty fan would have something like this. So it was pretty cool to be able to give that to him. Low and behold, a fellow MM'er, the great Darcie Miner just happened to be opening for The Badlees last night too, so it was all in all a great night to be out listening to Live music! She played "Change" and "I Write the Book" and did an excellent job with both songs. If you have not checked out her website yet at www.darcieminer.com I would highly suggest it. There is a video clip there of her playing Change, and you'll see what I'm talking about. As if getting to hear a Patty song that I'll never hear Patty play (I Write the Book) wasn't enough, then the Badlees invited Darcie to come on stage and sing with them during their set. They did an awesome version of Springsteen's "Nebraska" together. I think this girl has mega-potential here.. would anyone be interested in joining her fan club if I was to start one up? :-) I know I've mentioned this before, but I had NO IDEA when I joined this email list that I would discover so much great new music! It's crazy to think that all of them are on this very emailing list, WOW! Ok, well that's it for me... and to respond to Paul's.... >>Special note to Dave: >>My fiance' Laetitia is doing fine ..... >>How's your honey doing? .. well Paul, Bree and I haven't been seeing much of each other lately. I've been listening to her CD like every other day so that I don't miss her so much, you know? I should know the relationship has gone awry when I have to listen to "my woman" on a CD just to hear her voice. :-) Ok, so that was SO off-topic, but I'm sure noone is actually reading this anymore.. To those of you still reading, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I can't believe it's gone already, god help me it's back to work tomorrow! Love, Peace, and Happy Patty listening everyone. Dave *************************************** Gonna write a song Gonna tell it like it is And if you recognize yourself I know you're going to be pissed And if you call me on it I'll deny it through and through Just like Woody Allen would If he were in my shoes ~~ The Badlees ~~ **************************************** ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V4 #17 ********************************
