Being a drummer since I was dirt in the ground, I'd have to say those cymbal splashes totally do NOT go there. Which, again, I have to say is sad, because I think that my main man Kenny Aronoff is helping out with that and I can't understand why on earth he would use that...there. The blend would have been max better using a deeper cymbal and mallets. And I stand by that. ****************always comparing LWG...we should "move on", PG******* Living With Ghosts IS definitely an album to compare. Sitting there standing beside yourself saying "we need to move on, or else we stifle Patty Griffin's artistry" (or whatever... I don't remember what exactly was said...and I ain't naming names so don't nobody go ballistic on me or anything)...anyway, as I was saying. Just thinking how great LWG was, and then forgetting it when FR comes around is kinda wack-o for me. I keep thinking of like Boston's first album. What a killer album, one of THE albums of all time (so says me), and I would most definitely compare that single album to every other "not-so-great" album made by Boston since. Just because I'm comparing makes me in no way inhibiting Boston from writing anything else. It's just what I feel is the best album and want them to repeat, maybe three-peat that beautiful mix again. Of course time goes by, and it can't (and probably shouldn't) be done. But that's not saying I wouldn't LIKE it to happen. eh, I've got other things on my mind. gotta go do this holiday-relative thing. later. peace, love, vegetable rights. paul **************************************** * Remember when you were considered * * an environmentalist when you just * * didn't throw things out the window? * * * * --Paula Poundstone * **************************************** ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V3 #357 *********************************
