I went to Philly to see Patty last April. Found out from the list that she had had a cold. She started coughing and out of genuine concern, yelled out from row 3, "How's you're cold?" to which she replied, "Much better, thanks" then asked how I knew. When I told her, she said, "You people know everything about me" Putting myself in her shoes, I think I might have been thinking, "What's next...are they going to ask what color underwear I have on?" Later, meeting her, I was determined not to be tongue-tied but went overboard in the opposite direction. I ended up asking her if she had worn the same shoes she was wearing to a gig at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC 6 months prior. Call me stalker chic. I'm probably going to Fez on the 22nd.
