I know that for live shows they don't really have the option to do that, but the loudness of Patty's band at Sessions didn't bother me because I knew she had a mic and as long as she sang into it her voice coul be brought out for the actual show. Correct? No? Rachel :D ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 07 Oct 1999 18:57:32 PDT From: "Paul Russell" Subject: MM: cow pies Did someone on this list mention that the session tapings was at Studio 54? Really??? Drugs and liquor and disco. How cool! Anyway, a week ago...and about 400 messages...someone asked where the sirens are. Well, I had my extensive research committee do some extensive research and came up with this: In "not alone," the sirens come during ..."nothing really matters in the end you know." In "Let him fly," the sirens come during..."you can't recall just where or why...so there was really nothing to it." Sorry to turn over a dead stone, but now at least it can be thrown at me! Speaking of me... :P Since I didn't get to make it to this place that people call New York City for the "Sessions" taping.......... I decided to celebrate in y'all's honor by imbibing some (actually a great deal of) Guinness. Ah, beautiful sweet brew. I didn't even know my stomach could hold 91 ounces of liquid. But Biker Chick would have been proud; I need to tell her. Also, on a "darn-it-all-to-heck" note: I tried and tried and did some slick schmoozing, but Patty Griffin's "Change" will not be the opener for the Santa Rosa Crimestoppers program. It would have been cool, and that song made the semi-finals, but "Misirlou" on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack won out. Actually, the "hawaii five-O" song would have been boss too, but. yeah well. Well, gotta run drink some more. I've got a long day ahead of me tomorrow and would like to be hungover for most of it. :) peace, love, and vegetable rights, paul **************************************** * Alright, Harold. Has anyone on the list ever attended a show at "Club Vynyl"? Any impressions about ambience, if any? Are there seats? I know nothing about it, but I'm considering seeing Sonia Dada & Graham Parker there next month, and my wife won't appreciate being dragged along if there aren't at least a few creature comforts... Thanks, Larry I in LA ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V3 #287 *********************************
