Hey guys, Yours TRULY has just been notified that he is one of the few, the proud, that will be attending Patty's Sessions @ West 54th taping this weekend. If you can not already tell, this young man is SO excited that he's about ready to go through the roof! So, please pray for Cristina and I that we arrive safely to the show, and that nothing else unforseen goes wrong beforehand that could keep us away from seeing our LOVELY Patty Jean! I'm just thinking how cool it would be if she did like an hour of band material, and an hour of solo material... (OK, I'm really getting high expectations now). Ok guys, I just had to spread my Joy with y'all since you're the only ones that can relate to my excitement right at this moment. Take care! Minter" Subject: MM: getting to 54th--NPC Hey all, I just wanted to let people know that if you are going to fly into NYC to see Patty, the most economical major airline is Southwest. They fly into Long Island/Islip and offer the most reasonable, short-notice fares around. If you INSIST on flying into JFK or LaGuardia, good luck finding a decent fare! Just be careful when purchasing your ticket with American or the other "big" guys. They tried to charge me $900.00 for a last-minute coach ticket to Dallas. I could have flown to Paris for that amount! Anyway, I just thought I'd give some advice to anyone thinking about flying out to NYC this weekend... -Cristina ************************************** "A few witches burning gets a little toasty here..." -Tori Amos, "God" ************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:05:31 PDT From: "Nancy Micciulla" Subject: MM: yippee! i, too, got tix to see patty in new york. . .this weekend is just perfect for me! going to see fantastiks friday, patty saturday, walking in a diabetes walk on sunday, going to see indigo girls monday. . .aggghhhhh! okay. . .i'm just a little excited. i'll see you guys there on saturday! dave, i'll look for you and cristina. . . perhaps we could all do dinner or something afterward. . .or anyone for that matter! maybe there will be a special mad mission section or something. . .hmmm. . . love, nancy m ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:27:02 -0700 (PDT) From: ruby maroon Subject: MM: Being a MM'r has paid off for all of you. I am so impressed.... got home tonight and found that I had been selected to see Patty at Sessions!!!!!! As someone said... it pays to be a member of this list! By the way did anyone get my mailing about Patty doing an 'Anti-Landmine' benefit (2 shows) in LA with Emmylou Harris and a whole slew of other great artists? Check out Emmylou's site for details of the dates. Saw her and Linda Ronstadt on Sunday evening in New York and they were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! They played 'Falling Down' and they were both (especially Lnda) great on it! In spite of Linda Ronstadt being ill, she gave an amazing performance... both did. So, if their tour heads your way, take it from me, they are SO worth seeing! Later all... see some of ya at Sessions! Yay! They said to bring a printout of the email but my screen name and my name are seemingly completely unrelated so I'm not sure what that would prove. I guess I am worried that this is some type of hoax and we'll be disappointed. Not to rain on anyone's parade (I was jumping up and down when I found out!) but I'm just cautious. Lisa, it's not a hoax. Trust me. I've talked with the Sessions folks on the list more than a few times. Also, Jewel just did her's two weeks ago and many folks on that list went to it, invited in a very similar fashion. Unfortunately, between last Friday night when I signed up and tonight, a family conflict which I can't get out of has come up. SO, if you would like to go to the taping (starts at about 3 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 2nd in Midtown Manhattan), and can DEFINITELY be there let me know, and I'll forward to you the e-mail message you will need to get in. You must, of course, be a member of the mad-mission list to attend, so I am only sending this message to Mishers. Private replies please. Thanks y'all. Hello everyone, I would LOVE to get together somewhere for lunch/dinner, whatever seems to be the easiest for everyone to attend. I have to be back in PA and at work at 7am the next day, but I'm willing to do dinner if that's more convenient for everyone. Michelle, a VERY cool girl from this list is now a student at NYU, and hopefully has a good place to recommend where we could all try to meet. MICHELLE.... This is just too exciting! I've always hoped of getting together with many of you for such an occasion! Remember my "Patty-Stock" posts when I have planned on winning the lottery and paying for everyone to get together for a fun-filled weekend of Patty's music? Well, this isn't quite the same, since regretfully not everyone can attend...but it's as good as we get until I DO win the lottery, or come up with some cool invention or a cure for some terrible disease (all in the name of making my Patty-Stock dream come true). Ok my friends...I'm out of here! I'm so happy for all of you who have gotten tickets and are able to attend. I'm sure Patty will make us extremely happy and proud to be members of Mike's FINE list come Saturday. Patty G ROCKS! (54th) When I first found out about the date of Sessions I was almost positive I couldn't go. I'm an RA at my school and I just happened to be scheduled for duty this weekend, Friday and Saturday nights. Never mind that all the other circumstances were perfect-it was on a weekend so I wouldn't miss classes, and my fiance recently moved up here from Staten Island so we could make it a trip home too and I'd have a ride both ways. I called the other 7 RAs in the building and pleaded my case. Nobody called me back. I've been sulking all week. I was just lying in bed trying to fall asleep when something hit me, though. I can still be on duty Friday night (duty lasts until 8 AM) and then start driving. If I can get someone to cover my Saturday duty only, I can swing it. People are much more likely to cover one day of duty than a whole weekend, anyway. I had written to Sessions just in case and I got the confirmation letter, so I know I'll probably have seats. Hopefully this one won't be packed (the Jewel one was). I know at the Jewel one mailing list people got horrible seats and some people even had to stand up because the Sessions people overbooked the show and then all the performers (the musicians, the choir, etc.) had "VIPs" who got to come in late and sit in the good seats. Patty's band is much smaller, so that cuts the number down right there ... plus I'm hoping that since she's a smaller name than Jewel there'll be less people there. Everyone cross your fingers for me, and say some kind of karma chants that will subliminally persuade my co-RAs to take pity on me and work my one measly little shift... Rachel :D (who is someday going to tell Patty all about the Lyrics Archive!) ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V3 #276 *********************************
